the Hurricanes are 56-76-7-9 all time vs the Rangers, 20-46-4-5 at MSG.

They've won one game at Madison Square Gardens since 2010.

You are the Hurricanes expert sir.

Just how much would it cost to acquire Jake Bean from the Hurricanes?

Today? Probably more than you'd like.

After the expansion draft (and assuming they get a contract done with Hamilton), I think they'd be willing to talk.

On one hand the Canes do have a log jam on the back end, on the other they've got a few pending UFA's and will likely lose a defender in the expansion draft.

I think they're content with him in that #7 spot going into next season and could make room for him if they can find a home for Gardiner.

Man the guy has

U18 Gold Medal
World Junior Gold
AHL Championship
AHL All-Rookie Team
AHL First Team All Star
AHL Best Defenseman Award

and is 21.

I would suspect you're looking at, at minimum, a young NHL caliber forward who can play right now or a 1st round pick.

They don't have much motivation to trade him at this point. More likely to clear space for him to get on the roster.

Yeah and? They aren't playing any games at MSG and submitting a proposal just so your team doesn't have to face them seems cowardly. Go play your hardest and try to beat them isn't that what the point is? At least try before giving up.

*sigh*

What is the point of even having a vote if you're not going to try to represent your own best interest?

Exactly, why would the Canes even think of trading Jake Bean, a former 1st round pick that is developing better than hoped for. He is a high end reward imo and I suspect the cap is coming way down makes his entry level contract even more attractive. Hamilton has been unreal for you guys but I have never liked him since his cocky attitude in Boston. I think he has a shelf life for every team he plays for and may also want to much bread to keep him around, enter Mr. Bean, lol Jake Bean

Why don't you smarten up and stop crying you have to play the Rangers they aren't the 77 Canadiens. There are teams staying home that would kill to,be there.

This is what I was sayin before in a different Canes thread. You gotta protect this guy from Seattle. It’ll be tough with all of their blue line talent, but someone else has to be dangled, because they’ll pick Bean up in a heartbeat if given the chance.

I understand the Canes kept him in the AHL longer than some fans wanted, but with their defense, they afforded him the ability to mature without the added pressure.

I have a feeling they’ve got a real winner on their hands.
