I haven't seen Lundell play but this writeup brought the thought of someone like Michael Peca without the big hits. Smart, two way player with some offensive skills but none that are dynamic but a real complete player.

He’s kind of a safe pick IMO. Like for sure an NHL’er but seems like he might be a really good 3C. Which I’m good with because I have a ton of faith in Cozens being future 2C.

Rossi is my guy if there at 8

I agree on Rossi. Though Lundell probably ends up being 6’2” or 6’3” 210-215 pounds

I have liked Rossi too based on what I have read. I have faith in Cozens as well. They have to hit on one of their picks in the top ten besides the ones picked 1 and 2 overall which were pretty obvious.

ottawa has a choice at 3. do you take whoever is there of byfield/stutzle or do you take the top rated defenseman in Drysdale.. they might take Drysdale and pickup someone like Rossi at 5...

Why would the Blues take that kind of crap return for Bozak?

You're thinking the Hurricanes are short on RHD so they would trade a young, low cost LHD for a 3rd pairing RHD who is making triple what Fleury is making? Why would they do that?

Niku has looked like a 7th round pick so far in the NHL, and instead of Roslovic, can we get Andrew Copp?

No way on the 8th overall for Hertl. He has 2 years left on his current deal, and he's coming off his second major knee injury. Warning signs abound for him.

I agree on going after DeMelo as an FA.

- kingcong39

1. cap dump
2. Fleury hasn't really paid off for Carolina and they're defense core is always changing
3. Roslovic has a higher ceiling than Copp and is almost 3 years younger

Rossi is a wild card IMO. I can see him going anywhere from 4-9/10

Agreed. I have always had the opinion that hitting on draft picks will be the only thing to get us into contention. Tampa/Boston/Carolina all have post first rounders in their core. I don’t conduct Olofsson good enough to be in that conversation yet.

I would be very surprised if Strome got 5 mill with the flat cap, that actually might help Chicago out with Strome and Kubalik.
- Buff36

Even if he takes a 1 year deal for less now,
a long term deal for him will be that much (or more) if he’s putting up the numbers with Skinner than we’d want him to

I like Granlund a lot, would bring him in for the right price. But he will be lucky to even come close to his last contract with a flat cap.
- Buff36

I don’t get it
Let’s start by hopefully agreeing he’s a winger
He hasn’t played Center in years
And he’s never produced well at Center either
Good skater, but no grit or toughness really, and nothing special defensively.
More of a playmaker than a sniper,
which we already have plenty of.

I think the Sabres need “Goal Scorers” up front
And some size & toughness wouldn’t hurt either

I’m not saying he sucks
But i also don’t see why u “like him a lot”
He doesn’t really check the boxes of our biggest needs at forward

Carter ain't leaving LA. From everything I've read, he loves it there. In fact I thought I red that he'd rather retire than play somewhere else
- Michael Pachla

That’s cool
I was just questioning his logic

Agree with us needing scoring but I’ll take just decent players in general.

Less money, less term, way cheaper cost
- chilliard77

It’s a half a mil difference
And yeah, Henrique’s contract ends at 35
Carter is 35 NOW

What is wrong with 20 goals and 40 to 45 assists potential playing with Skinner, the kid can dish the puck. For some reason he didn't fit with Nashville, but that was he average points with the Wild in 16-17, 17-18, and he was well on his way before being traded in 18-19. Take that all day.

Lundell might be the safest pick in the draft, and could probably be your 3C next year.
- Buff36

We need a sniper like Holtz or Quinn more than a 3C
Always draft the guy with the highest ceiling
We’ve got enough “middle6” guys

Blues have Cap issues
O’Reilly & Schenn are clearly their top2 centers
They have Robert Thomas who plays Center
Bozak’s production for his Cap hit isn’t good at all

We could probably get him for someone like Smith or a late round pick
I think they’d give him away

Would it be a good idea?
Idk. He’s a guy i plan on watching more in the playoffs

Two years left on his contract versus four. Neither of these guys are gonna get us into the playoffs, so why take on another bad contract with term?

I said that, if Holtz is there you take Holtz, if it's between Lundell or Quinn, I take Lundell. Jesus the kid was playing in a men's league at 17, and putting up good numbers, and he has upside to be a 2C.

Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News suggests packaging #8 with Brandon Montour for a #2 center in his mid-twenties with some term...

Sounds about perfect. Ryan ORiley plz.

Shoulda pulled Nazim Khadri out of cash strapped Toronto when we had the chance.

but we should still be targeting guys that fill needs

it’s Granlund or someone else

He was on pace for 16 assists this year
Could’ve been a bad fit with NSH
Or he could be a declining guy we sign to an
Okposo-like UFA deal that we almost instantly regret

Great, he can dish the puck
So can Mitts, Cozens & Sam

We need goal scorers, not more playmakers

And he’s not a Center
Those Minny years you’re talking about he played on the wing

Why does he fit the defensive style Kruger has in place here any more than he did in NSH ?

then why is a guy who’s gonna be 36-38 on your list of potentials to get?

Well that's the chance you take signing a UFA, and I would be signing him to play RW, and Mitts, Cozens haven't proven they can get 40 to 45 assists a year Granlund has, and Rhino has never hit that many points himself, and who knows what system they are gonna run, they didn't have the guns to play North-South hockey, if they add more offense, probably play a different style.
