Well that's the chance you take signing a UFA, and I would be signing him to play RW, and Mitts, Cozens haven't proven they can get 40 to 45 assists a year Granlund has, and Risto has never hit that many points himself, and who knows what system they are gonna run, they didn't have the guns to play North-South hockey, if they add more offense, probably play a different style.

I don’t think the Sabres sign any big UFA’s. No one wants to be in hockey hell

That's gonna be a big problem to, but Granlund had a bad year in Nashville, don't think he will get a big payday this time around. But like you said gonna be very hard to get players to come here.

Idk... like i said, don’t think he’s garbage
But i consider him a risk
Add on to that a sure to be expensive UFA contract
Seems like a bad idea to me

At the very least he’ll be a risky, high paid idea

Are DeMelo and Craig Smith considered big UFA's?

See that's the thing I don't think he's gonna get that big deal, with the flat cap and not so decent year. But who knows.

Kinda. I mean almost any UFA would probably choose any other team unless we severely outbid or out term other teams

Are u taking into account that we are probably gonna have to really overpay UFAs that are in any kind of demand to come here right now?

I’ll put it this way...
For RW, i think I’d rather try to trade for guys like Josh Anderson or Alex Tuch
A couple bigger guys who should be mid20s goal scorers

If it comes down to giving Granlund a reasonable deal or getting no one, then ok
There’s just other guys I’d look at first

King's making a trade offer for Eichel:

https://www.nhltraderumor...-trade-offer-for.html?m=1

The Kings have reportedly been in touch with the Buffalo Sabres to see if there is any interest moving captain, Jack Eichel.
The Kings could offer the #2 pick, along with top-prospect and former first-rounder, Gabriel Vilardi, and also include someone like Jeff Carter to help make the money work.

I'm gonna need at least 4 firsts as a starting point. Basically his RFA compensation, and then add some more.

Edit: I'd rather have him walk in 6 years than any of the pitiful packages I've seen in the last month or so.

Agreed! If Eichel can’t accept trading Reinhart to make the team better, free up cap for better players up and coming (Joker, Cozens, Dahlin ect) than Eichel is part of the problem. A good GM tells Eichel
To STFU and do your job and let me
Do mine

I’m with you. All the rumors out there are garbage trades for Jack. No f way. With the right players and coaching he is arguably the best player in the league. How painful would it be to watch hiM win a hart trophy with another team

I’ve been preaching this for years on here. NO one really wants to play here that’s worth a shat. Probably why Botts had such a hard time landing.
This will change though as Dahlin comes into his own, Cozens gets rolling, Skinner gets back on track, Ralph gets settled in.
It will become more appealing to play here.

I'm sure the Sabres are real (frank)in interested in trading Jack Eichel

I agree, Tuch and Anderson would be a better choice, but Granlund wouldn't be a bad consultation prize with the right deal.

When did korpisalo get better than Hutton? I watched him get scored on from mid court by legwand. That possibly is a downgrade in goaltending but at best it’s a lateral move

I see almost no way that this team is any good next year without again depleting the prospect pool.

They have no players signed and will have limited cap space.

Botterill was so damn bad at his job.

Currently the Sabres have 34 Mil in cap space.

Roughly 2 Mil in overages Bonus.
Reinhart - 7
Simmonds - 2.5
Kahun - 2.75
VO - 4
Lazar - 1.75
Montour - 5
Ullmark - 3.25

There is 28 Mil

They have 6 Mil left, and a garbage roster to boot.

Dependent upon what the NHL does, I think the overage is about $1.25M.

Why do they have to bring back your entire list?

Also, some of your numbers are off. For example, there is no chance Lazar is getting $1.75M.

We just watched Jack carry a huge load for a good sized chunk of the season. Making one good trade to land a competent No. 2 center and fixing those special teams (mainly PK) should help immensely. Playoff-worthy? Probably not. But they should be closer, especially if their backup goalie can see properly.

If Adam's doesn't receive 30 calls on Eichel, of various seriousness, then other GMs aren't doing their job.

Give me 2020-2-OA, 2021-1st, Turcotte, Arthur Kailyev, and Akil Thomas
Draft Byfield and Rossi/Holtz
I'll take it, and add the Kings to my list of teams to watch.
