Right now it's a very good assumption.
- sbroads24

Not necessarily
Kruger wants to coach him
He likes being coached by Kruger

You know what cures frustration from losing?
Winning
That’s all we need to do... is start winning

If we’re saying that will make Jack wanna stay,
then that should apply to others here as well

I don’t agree that we need a “RD1” necessarily

If Dahlin turns out to be what he’s supposed to,
a RD2 quality partner for him will be just fine

Karlsson for example was never paired with another AllStar, just a solid partner like Hainsey

Heck...
Does Vegas even have a first pair guy?
Schmidt 22:14
Theodore 21:41
Martinez 21:28
McNabb 20:01
Holden 18:51
Merrill 18:09

They’ve just got a bunch of 2nd pair guys they play pretty evenly

The NHL is different now
We don’t need to pair Pronger & Niedermayer together necessarily anymore
Lots of ways to get the job done

- jdfitz77

Well you probably don't, but some of your better trade chips are your RHD.

Agree on this, but I think the best move for the teams overall performance will be eliminating the possibility of 55 playing 25 minutes a night entirely.

If Montour brings back the better player, then I want both traded.

In summation- trade Risto no matter what

- sbroads24

If Jason Nightingale has as much input on this team as I think he does, then Risto will probably be traded, and probably for an under-the-radar forward

Sure
But Ion was saying that even if we keep all 4 RD,
we still need to acquire a top pair RH defenseman

I was just pointing out that we really don’t

I have more faith in Risto that most here
I think he or Jokiharju could potentially be the long term partner for Dahlin

Something about Montour just doesn’t do it for me
He fine i guess, just don’t love him

On CapFriendly...
Saw a Calgary fan offer Hanifin for Montour
I’d do that

LD- Dahlin, Hanifin, McCabe
RD- Risto, Jokiharju, Miller
*didn’t mind Gilmour as the 7th, but whoever
Callups- Borgen(RD), Bryson(LD)
Others in Roch- Samuelsson(LD), Laaksonen(RD)

For those who hate Risto,
if u swapped Montour for him I’m not freaking out
Just don’t know if CGY would do that?

One LD I’d love to target in trade talkes would be McNabb if we can bring him back here in a trade for Tuch
Solid defender, tough, signed for a couple years
*undo GMTMs stupidity
Don’t think Vegas wants to move him
But i do think they would like to get rid of Tuch’s cap hit so they could keep Lehner
Maybe send the Pilut’s rights?
I bet he’d play in Vegas if they like him

I have no problem trading Risto if the return is solid, but mark my words when/if he is traded he will be a good player for the team that gets him. People will be talking about him a bit like we are ROR. There were tons who wanted him gone and now they are like Doh!!

When he pushes a player out of the front of the net after they score a goal or after the other team scores a goal following his 3rd straight failed zone exit pass in the same shift?

I kid...sort of.

You live in Buffalo and play for a sh*thole team for 7 years with mostly no name D or young ones, and how many coaches? and see what your numbers would be (if you were a good hockey player

) and play 23-25 mins a night, against the top lines and have the fans and wannabe media hate you. I think he has gotten a bad rap and will get a fresh start if he goes someplace else.

Does this not also give incentive to teams that shouldn’t be anywhere near the playoffs, like the habs, to lose the play in to get a shot at laf?
- Sabres1523

It would if players and coaches tanked, but they don't, as we've seen. Murray had to really work. There were what? 7 goalies in 14-15? Because they all played too well.

I'm going to have to disagree he has asked to be traded the last 2 years and during his exit interview he said he will be the first person traded with not a care in the world

If the Sabres trade Eichel to the Bruins I officially start supporting the Bolts.

The picks better be about 5 1st rounders and the prospects need to be who ever is there top offensive prospect to even start the conversation. All those 1st will be in the 20s or 30s. Using reverse gerbe logic those are basically 3rd rounders.

Hope is Zegras and Rossi are stars and you just shedded the worst contract in NHL in the trade. Add another piece on their end if needed. Don’t think your gonna get another established superstar in trade or else why is team doing that.

Just don’t have confidence in the roster as is for the next year, our contracts are horrible and our impact prospects won’t be impacts for 2-3 years. Jack will demand a trade

- Fattony1187

It's really hard to find a 1C.

Top 3-5 nhl = 1C in eichel.

It's like a qb in the NFL. Top qbs win games.

Eichel owes it to the city of buffalo to give it a few more years. He owes it to the pegulas. He owes it to the franchise.

I wouldn't trade him for anyone other than McDavid or matthews. Maybe for a #1 overall mceichel rated prospect and some extra picks

He doesn’t owe the city of buffalo poop. They are a hot mess and he has a right to be pissed about this situation.

The city of buffalo welcomed him with open arms.
He owes us, he signed a contract for 8 years here.

Maybe he needs to act like a professional

The Sabres aren't paying Jack 7 mil on Wed and then trading him. They aren't trading him anytime soon anyway. Sam on the other hand?
