Well, I will say this much - for the teams that get bounced out of the "play-in" series getting the First Overall Pick will be a fantastic consolation prize for one of the teams.

As a Blackhawks fan, if the Oilers win the series the Hawks will draft either 1st, 9th or 10th so I wouldn't be profoundly disappointed if they lost in the "play-in"...

One thing is certain, this is a profoundly unusual situation ..

As far as tanking - sure, players don't tank but coaches and management do *cough* Lemieux *cough*.. I mean if it happens you'll know when you see it.

I mean these "play-in" teams have a better chance at landing the First Overall Pick than they do winning the Cup, but you never know...... The playoffs are a "new season" as they say so anything is possible..... But yea, if a team is down in the series 2-0 I think tanking game 3 would be smart to say the least, lol - hey, if I was the coach I would.....Heck, I would tank if I lost game 1..

Wrestling never stopped, no disasters. UFC is going weekly, no disasters. Soccer is happening, no disasters. Nascar is running races, no disasters. Golf, no disasters. Korean baseball, no disasters.

Once the players are out of the general population and into their monitored bubbles, things will be fine. The government had basically already agreed to the NHL's hub plan and won't be requiring everyone to sit in a tiny room by themselves for 14 days.

I’m a huge hockey fan/habs fan. I think this season should have been a wash from the beginning of the shutdown. This whole thing is garbage. Whoever wins the cup will always be mocked. And now, whoever gets the #1 pick will also be mocked. This is truly a piss off for all parties involved. Do I think my team should tank, well of course, you’d be an idiot not to. Do I think my team deserves the #1 pick. No I don’t, not one bit. But in all honesty, I’d rather have a generational player than my name being on this bullpoop covid cup.
