Not to throw cold water on Holtz, but he plays with NJD Legendary Draft Picks JACOB JOSEFSON and NIKLAS BERGFORS!!! Just saying.....

Put up the same number of points (in 5 more games) as JJ!!

Todd do you actually think Rossi could fall to #7? What 6 players do you think would get picked ahead of him outside Lafreniere, Byfield and maybe Drysdale?

Hello Todd, great read as always! Would be happy with any you mention, Holtz would top my list. And if none of these are available it probably means Perfetti or Raymond fall and those would be solid picks as well.

I don't think you can compare these stats straight up - what was average TOI and how much power play time points are involved? It is a very small world however, shiver seeing those names.

Stutzle
Perfetti
Maybe Raymond or Sanderson.

If hes theres ar 7 I'd say you have to jump at it.

If hes there at 5 I think theres a good chance Ottawa takes him.

Yeah I don't think it means much if anything.

I put my faith in our scouting department.

Josefson plays centerman so I do not really see how that has anything to do with Holtz. Just means that an above average passer (in his own league, not NHL), can deliver a pass and he can put it in the net. We need a shooter like this kid, to put with Hughes or Nico. They can facilitate and he can finish. This is exactly what we need and his youth along with Jack's means they'll have years to develop chemistry and take over top line responsibilities. Put Foote on the other side and we have a legit line 1 in 2022-23

Nico centering the 2nd line with Palms and Goose and we have a crafty L2 of scoring veterans. That's a team we can get excited about after this rebuild is complete.

detroit gonna take drysdale after laf, byfield and stutzle go 1-3, ottawa takes rossi and he won't need to move from his apartment. Ducks are the team who will be deciding on holtz, perfetti, raymond, etc. We'll just scoop up whoever they don't take

Raymond feels like an Anaheim pick to me. No reason, just feels like it.

I love reading mock drafts and see who people think we'll be taking but the best one i've seen is the one dobberprospects just released. They have us landing Sanderson at 7, Holtz at 10, and Jarvis at 17. I'd be incredibly thrilled to walk out of round 1 with that haul

Rossi just screams an NJ pick because all the 67s NJ has drafted. If Raymond is there I hope they snag him he’s Unreal but I wouldn’t be disappointed with Rossi

I don't understand why everyone thinks the Wings will pick Drysdale at 4. Sure it's possible but i see them more going for Rossi or Sanderson. Both of them also fill needs along with being top end prospects.

It's just the expectation that nobody will pass on the top 3 forwards but Drysdale might go very early since he's the top defender. I don't think it's particularly Detroit oriented. It's Drysdale early oriented.

So Todd, the next post will focus on Raymond, Sanderson, Perfetti?

If we get out of here with 2 of Perfetti, Raymond, Holtz, Sanderson, that's about as great of a draft as a team could have. Add a Jarvis, Gruhl, Schneider to the mix and man we're set. 2 top 6 forwards AND a top 4 dman? yes please.

Hughes, Hischier, F1, F2, Gusev, Palmieri, Bratt, Boqvist, Zacha, Foote, Kuokkanen, Merkley, etc.. sign me up. We can only hope to land at least one star forward out of the 3, or 4 that we will have drafted in the past 4 years. I don't think Gusev, Boqvist or Foote possess that ability for us.

I'm sure he'll write about Raymond but people asked about him on twitter and Todd said he would be very surprised if Raymond was still on the board at 7. I'm definitely really interested in his takes on Sanderson though. And i agree, landing 2 of those guys would be a really great haul for us. I still prefer one of the forwards available at 7 but im warming up a bit to Sanderson. If we were to take him there, i wouldnt totally hate it

I would just rather take the gamble on Holtz @7 and then Sanderson, rather than Sanderson @7 and then Quinn with AZ. My understanding is Holtz is a better skater. Skating is important in the NHL..

And the NHL announces that more players (25) have tested positive for Corona Virus.

I'm doubtful we will see playoffs before a vaccine...

Yeah i mean they're all pretty good skaters, but still need to improve in areas. Holtz needs to improve his acceleration and Quinn needs to improve his agility, but arguably Sanderson's biggest strength is his skating. He's the best skating D in the draft. If Sanderson is still on the board i just feel the organization will take him, then pick up whatever forward is left available with the AZ pick, instead of taking the forward at 7 and risk Sanderson being taken. I dont necessarily agree with that, as i definitely prefer a Holtz there, but i can see the staff thinking of it that way come draft night

I really hope we manage to get 7th and 9th overall. I'm curious how Sanderson compares to Drysdale.

I'm not really worried about it, we're gonna be getting 2 really good prospects whether the pick is 9, 10, or 11. At this point im just worried about AZ actually losing their series, if the play-ins even happen. Having the pick drop from 9 through 11 to 16 or later would be awful

As to Drysdale compared to Sanderson theres no doubt Drysdale is the better pick, not only is his offensive ceiling is through the roof but he is very sound without the puck as well, i dont think that should even be a debate. Drysdale is in the Byram tier imo. Theres a reason why Drysdale will go top 5 and Sanderson is just sneaking into the top 10. Both will be very good defensemen though, just with different playstyles. Just the more i think about it and rationalize it in my head, the more i think we're going to take Sanderson at 7.

I just wish he was right handed, but our left side could look very good in the future with Sanderson, Smith(even though he can play the right side), and Bahl there. Plus the like of Okhotyuk and Misyul as well. Not much going on down the right side in terms of the future though, essentially only McCarthy and Walsh? Who we may lose next summer.

Well i know the Wings need defense but they need it on the left side. Hronek/Seider on right side along with some other right handed prospects seem like they are good there. Left side is pretty weak with McIsaac and Cholowski (who hasn't progressed much since turning pro).

I can't imagine Wings passing on Raymond or Rossi..
