Rikard Gronborg signed an extension with Zurich through 2023, was set to expire after next season

Once he saw he could coach in Newark he was ready to commit to Zurich.

Side note gentlemen: definitely not picking on him here....but did anyone else think that Bettman is having health issues when he spoke prior to the draft last week? His face was flush red and he seemed to be shaking a lot. Kind of looked like the beginnings of Parkinson’s. Hope I’m wrong. Not a fan of some of his moves, but certainly do wish him good health

He definitely seem "off" to me, but I was not paying close attention.

As a Devil's fan I certainly have some issues but he's not a bad guy and probably a very good Commish. I certainly hope he's fine.

Commissioners get a lot of poop because they're supposed to be the whipping boy on behalf of the owners. You can't blame Bettman for all of the lockouts because the owners are the one who cause them. When we boo Bettman we're booing the billionaire owners who treat us fans like poop.

That's certainly true for a lot of issues and I don't really hold anything against Bettman for the lockouts. I mean I'm happy he got some controls on player contracts because the 13+ year ones were killer.

I'm less happy obviously about him coming down on us for Kovy and I've felt like he plays favorites on a lot of issues.

The Kovy penalty will always be egregious and ridiculous. so ridiculous. I hope he's healthy.

I don't always agree with what he says/does, but 'overall' I think he has done many good things for hockey. The sport is at at all time high for viewership and revenue. I really don't get the incessant booing though. It's a bit childish.

He had his bad decisions too. 1. Kovy 2. Trapezoid 3. Shootouts to name a few

Pronger's and Hossa's contracts actively adding to a team's cap while being inducted into the Hall of Fame not being care about by anybody, yet we're the ones who got penalized for the ridiculous contract length. It was always bullpoop and will always be bullpoop.

My question on Vancouver pick is could they ask or agree with NJ to take the pick if they lose in qualifying round anyway.? Say this pick winds up being a 14-16 pick in first round it may move Canucks to give pick up this year because it would then NOT be lottery protected this year. I would think NJ and VAN would both be happy to do so because Vancouver certainly would dread this being a top 10 pick in 21 and NJ would not chance this pick sliding to 25 or 26 next year!

Bettman has been shaking for the last 8 years....seems to get worse every year. Maybe a nervous tick turned into something more serious.

Good question. I’d guess if VAN bows out in the play in they technically didn’t make the playoffs and they’d keep this pick; but they are a playoff team and not one of the added 8; so it might be an argument... and it could get heated if they win 1st overall pick in lottery 2.

But I’d imagine IF NJ and VAN came up with an agreement on what to do the league is likely to allow it. But I’m guessing it’s more likely to be a fight.

I don't think the league would allow an official trade to be changed after the fact.

It would just have to be an additional trade. Vancouver misses playoffs, trades this years first for next years to NJ.
