My Center Ice watching eyes agree. But I do wonder what it'll be like when the team is more watchable |

I'll never understand the love for MSG. Is it because of the history and nostalgia? I'm honestly asking, because I was not impressed by that arena at all. I saw a Flyers/Rangers game there in 2006, and I remember saying to my brother "for all of the hype, I expected a whole lot more". |

How can you not have Washington in your top 10?! I am a Penguins fan and can still easily admit they have a top 5 arena crowd. Rock the Red. It's an amazing experience, especially if you're there for the home team. |

the game day experience in any U.S. arena I've been to completely blows away the experience in the Western Canadian cities (Though I have yet to go to a game in Winnipeg).
it's a completely different way of viewing the game. |

For the most moronic and just dumb chants and nonsense, one should visit the Nassau Coliseum. |

really? are you only going to games there when the opponent is Carolina (who are probably one of the worst away draws in the league)? I can't speak to Vancouver, having never been to a game there, but I've been to games in Calgary and Edmonton, and the atmosphere has been incredible (especially when they're playing eachother). I've been to games in 9-10 American cities, and the only ones that rival those 2 cities are Boston and Chicago (I've never been to the pens or flyers live). I saw a game in Carolina (when the team was poop) and it was a terrible atmosphere. Games in Florida might as well be played in the tv room at a retirement home, that's easily the worst game experience in the league. even tampa, who has a great team, was pretty boring and quiet when I was there. |

There is not a bad seat in the Nassau Coliseum. Small Capacity. Its great for the fans, there are no luxury boxes to push the common fan 40 feet further away from the ice-for the sake of Corporate $'s.
The food is not great, but the beer selection is good.
The Sounds are deafening, the building shakes.

Wait a little bit before going to Carolina. They've got a new lease agreement, but Dundon and the city/state are working on deciding if they're going to actually do the proposed renovations on the current arena and let Dundon develop the land around it, or just build a new one downtown and have him put money into that instead.
The proposed renovations would cost about $200 million and look like this:

they probably are, yeah.
an almost total lack of national exposure for them for nearly a decade solidified that.

I have been to the Oakland Coliseum to watch the California Golden Seals play...General Admission seats were $2 and Krazy George could make the 4-6,000 fans sound like a sellout. Saw some great players come through there..
I have been to both the Montreal Forum and Maple Leaf Gardens and have seats from both historic venues in my game room, alongside a bench from Notre Dame stadium.
I have seen Kings games at both the Fabulous Forum and Staples and thought that the Forum atmosphere was the better one. My wife saw her first 2 hockey games there and was hooked..Having Sharks season tickets since day 1 has seen me at the Cow Palace (my original ticket rep was Bob Fitzgerald, voice of the GSW and it took 4 hours to find seats that might be passable) and at SAP Center where we had the best seats in the house until they put the nets up. I have also been to the old and new Boston Gardens when the wind chill factor was a -22 degrees and liked the Old one a little more...Been to Anaheim, Vancouver, Arizona, Washington Verizon Center, Florida and Tampa Bay, Dallas, and the san Jose outdoor game at Levi's...
The road trip I'd like to take is to Chicago to see the anthem in person, Nashville for the fan experience, Vegas for the same and to remind their fans of last years Game 7
and then to Pittsburgh, and Montreal and Toronto to see the new stadiums... |

Winnipeg gives fans a great hockey experience. Being a smaller arena the fans are on top of the action and 16 000 fans all cheering for the Jets makes the place so loud that it becomes a true home ice advantage. The knowledgeable fans are there to watch hockey, cheer for their Jets and not to be in corporate seats to do business deals instead of supporting for their team. Also the Jet fans don't turn on their team or any of their players unlike so many other teams fair weather fans do. The Jets don't run players out of town. |

Until I see a standing ovation for a stellar PK on a Tuesday night in November (from any of you posers) I'll be with Ek.
