In other news, just ordered some ladybugs online. Never thought I'd do that, or plan on harbouring 500 or so of them in my fridge for a week or two

A couple brussels sprouts that are also being eaten by something, some san marzanos, lemon boys, chocolate cherry, early girls, hungarian wax peppers, and some cayennes and ghost peppers that are stunted and probably won't bear any fruit this year.

This sweltering weather is brilliant for the garden though

We’ve been in quite the warm stretch here too. That sounds like an awesome garden. I’ve been thinking about doing one, but I would have to do everything in pots and I don’t really know enough about it to know if that would even work. I don’t see why not. I’d really like a lime tree, but I don’t know what to do with it during the winter. Some people grow them in doors, I guess. I have a planter with herbs and that’s about it.

If you want a patio garden, the big box hardware store buckets that are 3$ each or whatever are brilliant. they hold a lot of soil for tomatoes and pepper plants, and you could also get away with green beans or smaller cucumber plants or something.

You can also cram a tomato cage in there (for all kinds of veg that vine) so you don'[t have to screw with stakes. As long as you get around 50% of the sun throughout the day wherever you grow, you should get tons of fruit.

So are the play-in rounds normal OT/SO?

Thought I heard something like that. If so, that's lame af.

Great suggestion. We started “growing in containers” for the first time this year. Everything is doing well (in the eyes of newbies anyhow). Having our first cucumber tonight.

Sounds like you have a killer garden. It’s a underrated hobby. Respect.

I love using big buckets like this. I've done all kinds of tomatoes and hot peppers in them. Had way more peppers than I could handle last year.

Haha not yet.. I’m in Muskoka for the rest of the summer at least, then probably back out west or maybe Pickle Lake for the winter.

Yeah I have 3 leftover I haven’t put in the ground. I’m keeping them because if they’re males, I’m going to pollinate my neighbours (who is a bad neighbour) plants. Yeah, I’m a savage.

3 hours North of me. My wife’s grandparents played a huge part in settling the town, then built the hotel. Lots of family still there. Hidden Gem.

I haul past Pickle to get on the Ice Roads in the winter. Let me know if you end up there.

(frank) the neighbour, good plan
