It drives me crazy that after all this time, people covering the NHL still don't know and understand how various parts of the CBA work.

The blogger writes this.

"Henrik Zetterberg - Detroit The former Red Wings captain essentially retired after the 2017-18 season due to back issues, but still had three years left on his contract at just over a $6 Million cap hit. Detroit however has Zetterberg on injured reserve and not on LTIR because of being in the midst of a rebuild and with only $46 Million in projected salary next season, they may use his cap hit to get to the cap floor."

The reason why Detroit has Zetterberg on IR and not on LTIR is because it is not available to them. LTIR is an exemption to spend over the upper limit IF replacing that players causes a team to go over the upper limit. Until a team spends to the cap and uses all of it's cap space, LTIR is not available to them.

I was at the Kapanen hit/Roeneck overtime goal with my kid. Man, I what a stomach turner.

Related question. Do you think your Governor want to kill every Floridian to own the libs?

Nope, have you? Do you know if it's available to read? Since it's just been ratified within the last day or so, I doubt it. LTIR is not going to be changed. No reports of that.

Now where would he find the time? In between the MENSA meetings over in Tanner’s blogs?

Friedman said 10 minutes ago he heard both sides approved it. Neither of us have any idea of LTIR has been changed and unless there was some desire from poorer teams to tighten rules up I don’t know that they necessarily would change it.

I’m still waiting for my Mensa application to be processed. I’m pretty sure it’s just slow because of the virus. But I did take a cognitive test and I aced it. The doctors were all very surprised.

Definitely. DeSantis is not incompetent, he is evil. Cold calculated decision to let thousands of people die to maintain the short-term health of the economy.

Friggin Disney World is re-opening tomorrow. Family passes are half-price and come with a free ventilator.

Normally I would be heading to Orlando to a conference next week. Instead we started virtual meetings with vendors today. Even got drunk at the beer tent (after one beer...pffft). Couldn’t imagine attending a show there now.

The salary cap is way too complicated.

Why not just have the rule be you can't ice a team who's combined cap hits exceed the cap?

Simple, and I don't think it would be very easy to manipulate.

Sure we do. Anything that has changed has been leaked. It hasn't changed. Making my point that the blogger doesn't understand how LTIR works, valid.

Think of it like the tax system except this time the Leafs are the rich who hire the brains to circumvent.

Trump had to identify a camel, a hippopotamus and a lion. There’s a reason he got into Wharton.

Certainly seems to work in our favour.

I just don't know why they make it so ridiculously complicated (Like the tax system)
