I met Bill Barber at a Pensacola Ice Pilots playoff game back in 04 or 05. He was scouting for Tampa and was surprised that he was recognized.

That round robin looks tough for the Flyers but if you wanna be the best, you’ve gotta best the best. It will be nice watching competitive Flyers hockey.

The only round robin team we struggled with this year are the Bolts. We owned the Caps this year imo. Think we won more games against the Bruins than lost too. Still will be tough though

It's basically a whole new season. Toss out everything that happened in the first 69 games in terms of trying to predict a series. That's true even in an 82-game season followed immediately by a playoff series and most especially true when it was roughly a 70-game season followed by a four-and-a-half lapse of time before the next games are played.

I am lucky to be old enough to have seen Barber in his prime. Those who rate any other Flyer ahead of him at LW are nuts. He excelled at every facet of the game, and in my opinion, only Clarke, Parent, Howe and Lindros (and perhaps one day soon Giroux) deserve to ranked above him on a list of greatest Flyers players of all time.

Great piece on Bill Barber! These playoffs should make winning the Cup particularly special. I liken it to The Canada Cup/ WC of Hockey tournaments. All teams coming back will have to be at their best right at the get go or your done before you can blink! Should make for great hockey! Also, IMOP, Lindblom would have been my choice for the Gene Hart Award. Pretty obvious reason. Stay safe everyone!

I'm assuming you mean the best LW not named Scott Daniels...pretty much a given as far and away the best LW in team history.

Always funny to read/hear a presser by Couturier. The over/under on the number of times he says “obviously” is two and he usually goes over.

NHL is back and Stamkos wastes no time getting injured again. That guy can’t catch a break.

I was wondering, with the cap being flat for the next two seasons (at least), will they be allowing any sort of compliance buyout for each team?

i think the Flyers propensity to play a dump and chase/shot suppression type team game will benefit them in the beginning until they get their offensive chops in order. Keep it simple.
