I actually think you're framing this incorrectly. The real issue isn't commuting the sentence of a friend, though that is problematic. The issue is commuting the sentence for multiple felonies when they were committed for the specific purpose of protecting the president and/or his administration.

That's the part that makes it so abhorrent. We have a president effectively saying, "Do illegal things to help me, and I'll make sure you face no consequences."

I don't care what party you are, or what your opinion of the Mueller investigation is. Everyone should have a problem with this.

When watching the playoffs that begin soon, will you watch as impartial hockey fans, or will you pick a team to root for to make a Cup run? For those who temporarily adopt a team to cheer for, which team will you be rooting for this summer?
