In highschool I used to own floor hockey in gym. And I was a goalie when I played. I scored off a face off once because the opponent said there was no way I could do that. It was hilarious how easy it was
- IndianaSabresFan

That's awesome. In grammar school, there were two of us who would score 6-8 goals a game a lot of the time. In HS it got a bit more competitive because there were more really good hockey players but the puck still found the net. That was fun.

Getting back to the hasek vs Perrault thing. Gilbert put the Sabres on the hockey map. No doubt the best Sabre ever.

Is it true Sahlen Field is 325 in RT field and 367RT Center? There are going to be some home run derby's.
- GilPerreault11

Yankee Stadium is 314 on the right field line and 318 to left.

Slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said he expects Buffalo's park to favor pitchers because it is a larger field than the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

"It's going to be different because of the way it is in Toronto compared to Buffalo," Guerrero said through an interpreter. "There are no fans anyway. We're just going to go play baseball."

I’m sure Levi Wallace can fill right in for Tre White.

Might as well let him walk next year 🧐

Defence does not matter

- Pegullaville

Jesus Christ.

Tre White is, at worst the 3rd best corner in the game. If he also had to catch passes, but dropped every other one, had 30 catches and 2 TDs, I'd rather have a Levi Wallace that gave up 3 TD's(the number he gave up last year for an 85.5 rating, which is Fitzpatrick, exactly. He just looks kinda poopty next to White when in reality he's a perfectly serviceable corner), but could catch 60 passes for 6 TDs. But football and hockey have nothing to do with each other since you only play either offense or defense except in extremely rare circumstances, talk about brain dead.

Good point, but Hasek is considered among the greatest (top 3) goalies ever.

Nobody has come along since Dom that's even close.

Gil was great at his time. Since Gil at least dozens.

I understand theres probably 20 years between retirements but still....

Larry G last year 12 goals 11 at even strength

6 even strength goals less than the A$$ Lickie with 17
4 or 5 million less per season.

Seems like value

Larry G - krueger's guy?

- Boss34

Oooo, now do 18-19. Wait, I'll do it for you, Sam, I'm guessing you're talking about Sam, when are you ever not? had 20 EV goals to Girgensons' 5. Girgensons couldn't even get to 20 EV goals in 2 seasons, hell it took 3 just to get to 21. Reinhart's last 3 are, checks notes... 50. Talk about Cherry picking, Jesus.

I don't think this is even a close argument. Hasek is one of the best of all time. Gil isn't in the same tier.

Would you consider how a player responds to a coaching staff in your foolproof authoritative plan?

Girgs played well under Ralph

For crags to somehow pretend he had a bad season is ridiculous.

I like the twins. Never ever have a doubt about their effort. I'm talking about you know who again. (Indirectly)

The internet says Sahlen's field is 325 (LF), 404 (CF), 325 (RF).

Fenway is 310, 390, 302. Obviously there's the Green monster factor there.

Roger's Center is 328, 400, 328, so I'm not sure how much of a difference there will be.

Sahlen's Field seems to be in line with a number of MLB parks dimension-wise. It's not huge, but I don't think it's a bandbox, either.

Yeah, as been said, it's more about the lights and space/amenities for the players. My bet is they use either Harborcenter or the Sabres facilities, at least at the beginning.

Never said that. I said he had a comically high shooting percentage that he is very unlikely to replicate (14%) considering he's a career 8.4% shooter

That's the kind of year that gets you paid $3m when you're a UFA instead of the $1m you're worth
