Alex Tuch and the rights to Chandler Stephenson
for Montour and Asplund

- Buff36

I'd do that in a heart beat...would the Knights though? Sabres may need to up the prospect side of that equation.

I would love to see Mantha here, I just don't see Detroit moving him, and believe it would cost more than just Montour...but that is me.
Would live to see it.

- IonSabres

there are a lot of parallels between the two players--about the same age and about the same pre-rfa salary as well as similar place in the lineup...mantha, to me, is a mid-six winger with second-line up-side while montour, to me, is a top-five d-man who had displayed top-four abilities for two different teams

If he’s dealt to the Lightning I could see a return like Johnson/Gourde and Paquette. They can still shed salary in acquiring Montour however not that much. They would have to make additional deals afterwords to become compliant.

I think the Flames are our best bet tbh. If we could get Manigapane and Jankowski for Montour and a Cj Smith/Rasmus Asplund id be all over that.

- Pegullaville

I'd love to get Manigapane for sure.

we need a writer. this post isn't directed to anyone in particular, just an observation. Or maybe it is.

Ya, Mantha put up 0.90 ppg this season up from 0.70 last season, so I view him as a Top 6 already. He has missed alot of games over the past 2 seasons though...40sh total.
IMO, Montour's value took a hit here this season.
I'd love it though!

I would be pleasantly surprised if we were able to obtain Mantha for Montour.

I would like getting Mantha for Montour but how does that get them leaner if they make basically the same pre-RFA? With OV getting a substantial raise, Reinhart if he stays getting a substantial raise and they haven't addressed the need for a 2nd line center that will cost 5 mil +. Getting leaner and cutting the Cap is a problem. Dahlin is going to have to get paid soon very well too.

As long as it gets the conversation started, I would up it, Tuch helps with are RW situation, and Stephenson fills are 3C or 4C role and helps with PK.

What would the perception of Ralph be if he saw that happened to Eichel and shrugged it off in a post game presser ?

TK was gliding in and had more then enough time to peel off. Heck even if he was skating full speed he would have had time to peel off or stop.

He raised his skate blade and the intent to make contact was 100% there.

I don’t think anyone means to injure someone intently but when you go into someone with a skate blade up it’s usually never a good thing.

- Pegullaville

I realize I'll never change your mind (this is the internet, after all), but his blade catches the ice and pops up on it's own. He didn't do it on purpose. You're watching it in slow-motion so yeah, it APPEARS like he's raising it, when in fact it catches the ice and kicks up out of sheer speed and force. Also, do we know if Scheifele was even cut ? I'm still thinking MCL or broken bone (he tries to grab his shin while on the ice).

Simple answer: Trade more defensemen (Ristolainen and Miller).

I’d keep Miller personally.

In a perfect world both Montour/Risto gets moved but we don’t live in a perfect world. I’d personally rather move Risto as Montour has more team control but if he’s the one that ends up getting dealt so be it.

With our questionable goaltending not sure clearing out most of the experienced D is the prudent way to go.

not sure trading both right now is a good idea...borgen may or may not be ready and even if he is, next in line on the right side is fitzgerald, unless they bring back nelson

If they spend to the cap and finish in the bottom 5 again while doing it they are idiots for doing it, and we are all saps for rooting for it.

Only one way to find out. Cut the cord with all the minute hogs who have been here since Teddy Nolan - offense and defense.

Play the kids. The worst that can happen is we suck again, but maybe we'll suck in a new and fun way

I think Borgen is a perfect 6/7. If we are expecting more than that we’ll be disappointed. He won’t bring much offence at all but he is physical and defends the blue line well. Can essentially bring what Risto does at 1/5th the cost.
