Why go into the boards with your skate up?
I can't say if he had intent but that look pretty 'careless'.

I admit I hate that bag of sh*t so my opinion is somewhat bias.

- Marwood

Careless equals reckless which often in the hockey world equals playing hard for certain players.

I find it to be in that grey area that Tkachuk lives in. It was way too fast to be premeditated, but at the same time when have you ever see a guy go blade up into a check? Even if his skate catches. Usually at that point it’s the toe of the boot.

As always I think he was looking to finish his check extra hard/catch him however he could, and just sort of turned his skate to land something on him. Much like when someone is going to miss a hit so they hang a knee.

- NewYorkNuck

It's the type of cut he's doing that puts his foot up like that. He had to transfer all of his weight to one leg to match Scheifele's motion. Super fast and both guys going hard close to the boards. You see it more than you think it's just something that ends harmlessly 99.9% of the time.

At this point I'm feeling kinda dirty defending Tkachuk. I need a peroxide bath.

I agree and saw it much the same way. He wanted to finish his check which made him try to turn his skate which led to the other events.

The knee comparison is a good one.

On the knee comparison...

In a tournament game as a teenager was kneed on a reaction by their D man. Poke checked the rush as a D man & was going to have a break away from my own blue line in & I was very good offensively. Massive hematoma resulted to my quad. Tore the muscle off & bed ridden for 2 months. Demerol was suddenly my best friend.

That sounds horrible. Unfortunate plays in a game that goes a hundred miles an hour.

I’m not saying you are wrong. I’m saying that the Shaw Cable guide for SNP says that it is airing game 2, obviously a mistake.

Tonight should be fun! Might have to put something on the smoker.

It's an 11:30 PM start here but I only woke up at noon so it shouldn't be an issue. I probably won't watch much this afternoon as it's another 30 degree day.

I had it on all day yesterday but on mute with tunes cranked. Was inside & outside through the day. 27C, so perfect afternoon beer weather. Had the ribs slow cooking in the oven while back and forth from the woodpile.
A little gardening and mow the lawn before the Columbus-Toronto game (GO Blue Jackets!!). Mrs. Marwood has loaded the beer drawer with Pabst Blue Ribbon, a simple beer. Filling the bowl of my new water bong with either Scout Master or Girl Guide Cookies. It's been a good BC Day long weekend!

Also, found out my back surgery is next week, Aug. 12. Scared & excited.

I’ll be honest, looking forward to the Philly/Boston game. Should be a doozy.

Same, cleaning garage, yard work, house clean, games on all day.

Going to sit and watch Canucks tonight though. Smokies and salad, couple cold beers.

Edit - not the surgery part though, thoughts and prayers...

Lower lumbar compression rod & screw fusion. It's going to be a long road to recovery but we're prepared.

Nope. Game 1 of the series I think. That’s what SN says. I thought the tune up games were all done.
