JTM looks pretty bad tonight
- NewYorkNuck

I thought he and Petey had some great shifts, but as a body of work I thought he tried to do too much. He was trying to be the playmaker, the scorer, the instigator, the tough guy.

JV and LE need to slot in. Experience is needed. Maybe a new coach too lol...

Bert was showing himself to be a special player immediately upon joining the Canucks.
JV isn't the dominant force nor has the playmaking ability Bert did. Although they're both "power forwards", their games are totally different.

- golfingsince

Good point.

Personally i think Bert is a little more country...
And JV is s little more rock ‘n’ roll.

Ferland tried to manufacture it but it’s hard to motivate the walking dead. When was the last time you saw legitimate intense aggression from this team? As a whole the Canucks have been emotionally void for years.

That’s why we all were so blown away when JTM joined the team. We thought “wow, now that’s a captain”. No, that’s just how most players approach the game and as a fan base we just haven’t seen that kind of swagger since 2010/11.

Why not make markstrom the captain?

Now THAT is thinking outside the bun!

The Cup champs are 0-2, I’m not worried, the Canucks will still win this series.

You're probably mistaking them with Bert and Ernie. It's ok, run along little child.

He just looked like he was fighting the puck a ton. Bobbling passes, losing edges, giving the puck away a ton. Definitely not indicative of his body of work this season

Yeah, I attributed that to him feeling like he has to do it all. It didn’t help that Toffy was invisible most of the night. They will be better next game, a big night from this line will make everyone forget.

Nucks are 21st place team at present. They aren't winning anything lol

I think Van will squeak out a win but Minny will move on.

We'll get there but we won't see it of another year or two. Once Edler/Tanev are gone....

first: good luck with the back thingy.

second: i thought most of the team just looked flat. nobody looked great aside from a few sporadic shifts. when the league turns into a 4 on 4 league, the canucks will dominate!

third: i'm not overly concerned. they looked flat but didn't get run out of the building. game one didn't make me feel they're out of the series.
