MVP again Tkachuk.. with the intentionally not intentional, beautiful skate cut.. subtle yet effective... and then the awesome Alfred E. Neuman... what me look..

Todd the 2nd was all Flames & not just on speciality teams. & Bennett Lucic & Dube were hitting & buzzing, exactly what a 3rd line should do. I think that 3rd period was your typical score effects & Flames werent as aggressive & refs were giving Jets PP like candy on Halloween. I didnt see any intent to injure, Maurice is just trying to stir up his players. If anything, Gio's cross check on Liane arm was more over the line than what Chucky did.

Just like the Gio I didn't mean to stick my knee out it just accidentally goes 90 degress sideways while I'm skating up ice and put Cam on the 6 wk DL..

Look at the Tkachuk play and with a straight face try to defend that as an accident...
No reason to lift his skate up like that.. None whatsoever.

Tkachuk is the master of the intentionally oops injury play.

Whatever, you must have been watching the Ducks play last night. I would say you must think that Eakins intent to injure Tkachuk with that knee on knee blind side was a great hockey play.

League has already confirmed the play is not going to be reviewed & if Maurice truly had the video showing it was intent, he would have sent it. No review, no intent to injure so fck off!

Talbot looked steady which is good enough to earn him game 2 for me.

Lucic-Bennett-dube is the perfect line for playoff hockey, they may not put up points but they were physically dominant and seemed to keep the puck in the O zone whenever they were on the ice which is all you can really ask for out of a bottom six line.

Our 1st line for the most part and pretty well the whole team didn’t stand out for any good or bad reasons which considering last year I will consider the 2nd half of that reason to be happy.

On to tkachuck. The camera angle that would have clearly shown it was positioned right above where his foot was therefore it’s hard to prove if it was a freak accident or not. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt to him because it clearly was scheifele’s knee that was injured on the play. If it was what everyone was saying it was it would have been an Achilles injury, something that even Maurice alluded to in his presser it was not. The reason for why a knee injury is defendable is because that’s a play that happens in every game, it’s just unfortunate that the position scheif was in and perhaps a rut in the ice that this was the result.

The Tkachuk hit on Scheifele is reminiscent of Jamie Macoun's infamous hit on Hawerchuck.

Only way the Flames have ever beaten the Jets is by taking out their best players with dirty hits/plays.

Kind of surprised how much attention and criticism Tkachuk is getting from the Jets' side considering it was at worst borderline.

Gio's cross-check on Laine was dirtier and filthier and I haven't heard anyone complaining about it.

Gaudreau is going to be lucky if he makes it out of the next game in one piece.

I don't know, I'd say the flames were pretty dominant. That 2nd period they had the pressure on them constantly. Flow of the game had them protecting the lead in the 3rd but winnipeg did not get many chances, flames D were solid

Blame the coach or the players for the loss. If you do a Zapruder play, you might find something there, but the coach is trying to change the talk to focus on Tkachuk. Not a dirty play, unless you consider a missed check dirty. The Jets just plain sucked. They had nothing in their PP and couldn't defend on the PK. Get over yourself.

If you watch the replay of Laine and Gio, Laine catches him with his right elbow up high then slams his left hand into the boards. Then Bennett comes in for a hit. Gio was upset about the elbow and crosschecked him on the right arm. He didn't injure Laine's arm, the boards did it

Have you ever tried to hit a player at 3/4 speed?? Shifflie turned. Away from the pressure tkchuck missed the hit his skate caught a rut and he twisted his knee no intent there

Perhaps.

Though I’m sure you must understand how people might question Tkachuk’s sincerity? He’s certainly earned such suspicion.

Every team hates players like Tkachuk but would want them on their team in a second. Anyone who doesn't want him on their team is not being honest. He's a slimy player but I don't believe he intended to to injury Scheifele.

Yes yes he has but this time I don’t think he meant to injure. Jets coach is doing his job he has to motivate his team some how

This I can get behind. The Jets made the wrong pick when they took Laine. I would much rather have Mathew Tkachuk. Plus he would have been a great legacy player on our team.

Paul Maurice is a loser coach. He has thoroughbred horses playing like they equestrian horses. He needs to let his horses run.

Exactly 22 playoff games for Ehlers, 0 playoff goals. All coached by Maurice!
