That is a vary unfortunate play. But tkchuck who we all know plays on the edge didn’t intentionally try to hurt him!! Maurice Has to say something. As a flames fan I want to beat the jets fair and sqf with the best team they can put on the ice. |

He would say that because paul maurice is a loser!!! |

I do agree with this. Maurice is a bum. |

The Jets are no longer a big punishing team so don't expect them to try and run the Flames out of the building. They rarely hit anyone in their own zone so Tkachuk should not be too worried. |

He also has Lucic on his team. Jets have to send out Wheeler to fight |

Disagree there. It was intentional. Tkachuk angles and sticks that right leg out to follow Scheiffle turning back. He lifts his foot right into the leg. It was a teckless dirty play yet again from someone with a history of on ice conduct this way. Got away with it. |

Is it a cut ? Is it an Achilles tear? Is it a blown knee? Is it a hamstring tear? Before you come up with verdict see what the injury is first cuz honestly tkchuck could only have done a skate cut and that seems unlikely because if it was the league’ would be all over it. |

It's sad when Wheeler answers the "bell", especially when you have that bum Adam Lowry sitting on the bench. Should he not have answered the bell? |

Having played a lot of hockey my first inclination when watching the play was that Scheif got an ACL or MCL tear and is done for the year. A huge sinking feeling as a Jets fan.
However, Upon a very slow-motion review of that one blue line angle, it is quite clear that Tkachuk lifts his skate and it hits Scheif's leg just at the top of the Achilles, possibly bottom of the calf . Not a lot of protection right in there. Then Lowry mentions a cut. So as Jets fans a cut that is not too deep would be our best hope.....ACL/ MCL our worst fears. If no tendons are affected then it can be stitched up and frozen. Maybe that's where the specialist makes the decision. Let's also hope it's not a damaged Achilles tendon.
Nice to see hockey back but as a Jets fan, without Scheif and Laine we better start cheering for a lucky lottery win (12.5% chance of first pick)... and also for all the other teams who finished below us in winning percentage to win their series. I believe we could then draft as high as 9th in a very good draft year. |

Tkachuk isn't fighting Lowry.
It was the right captainy thing to do. |

We already lost Scheifele. So according to this logic, if Wheeler breaks his hand or gets injured fighting Tkachuk, how does that help the team? |

You clearly never played hockey, he lost his balance is what happened, plain and simple.
NO player in the league would try to cut someone intentionally, give your head a shake. |

Maurice needs to keep his mouth shut or atleast to the media. No one likes a crybaby. Say whatever you want to you team behind closed doors to fire them up.
Just ask Bruce Cassidy. |

Well, to be fair, his comments did do the job of getting everyone to talk about his comments instead of how awful the Jets played.

It's hockey and there's a "code". They followed the code. Most of the captains in the league would have done the same thing. Stars don't fight goons.
If you're not willing to stand up for your teammates, you probably aren't a captain. |

watch it at regular speed. he catches an edge. It all happens in milliseconds. If Tkachuk can move his feet that fast and think that fast with that precision then he would have 500 points a year in this league.
Starting to think fans shouldnt have access to slow motion replays |

Lifting his skate was intentional but not an attempt to injure. Scheif turned away from the check and left Tkachuk not much to hit and his instinct was to catch whatever was left . He lifts his leg to get that last piece of Scheif. I've seen that same thing happen many many times on missed hits into the boards. It's just a reaction to get a piece of him and slow him down. Dirtier players will do it. Clean players will not.

Watch it again and look at both skates. He tries to get his right skate on the ice but it skips up because his left skate is also skipping along the ice. He's not in control and his skate comes up as a reflex to regain balance and protect himself from crashing into the boards.
If he was intentionally trying to get his skate up, he wouldn't he trying to plant it on the ice a fraction of a second before contact.

So happy for Ehlers. I think he's such a great player. Too bad he's got a clown coach that does not know how to use him. |

I have never seen Crosby or McDavid get into scraps. Perhaps they are bad captains. |

Crosby has been in a handful. I know he fought Giroux at some point in the playoffs. |

he should probably lay off the coke before games.
he stumbled around a few times out. nhl players should be able to keep control of their feet on the ice. |
