Thanks Carol.
Green needs to stop being such a snowflake. Kick a few garbage cans across the room and dump a stick rack or 2. It's fucking playoff hockey. - Load Management
If Green pulls his head out of his ass and ices the right lineup/lines we'll compete. JV and LE draw in and he may want to sit Stecher. Some fu*cking intensity would be nice...

What's to say he's not? Just cause he's playing nice with the media and saying positive things? Should he be throwing his team under the bus after one game for the Vancouver media?

Put Toffoli with Pearson FFS!!!!!!
We need LE on the PK...badly. - LordHumungous
What would it hurt? We have all sorts of players that are supposed to be able to play up and down the line-up. Pearson looked like crap, maybe Toffoli settles him down.
It's hard for me to say who gets pulled for who. Although I'd pull a 4th liner for a better PK. I think Sutter outplayed Beagle though.

For starters, he's not walking with an unexplained limp. It's also OK to hold your players accountable after losses in the media. You don't have to back up the bus to do so, but some excellent coaches have been doing it effectively throughout the history of hockey.

I fully agree about keeping them accountable. I just don't think after game 1 in a best of 5 after a 4 month break with a fairly young team is the correct time to do it.

Both had press box worthy performances. MacEwen provides big tide changing hits & timely goals. How do you not have that player in a series lineup against an annoying opponent like the Wild 🤦🏽‍♂️. Yesterday’s lineup looked like Green wanted to match THEIR energy instead of hitting them with ours.

Astute comment. He didn't take advantage of icing a better offensive and power bottom 6 to out do the top 4 D smothering of our top 6. So lets see if he makes the needed changes and line combos to be more effective against an aggressive defensive Wild match up.
As said in last thread on this and to add the players still have to execute and fight to gain space. Though its a lot harder to get offensive timing back up to playoff level then defensive checking.
Thanks Carol and again nice gig with NYT. So what did we miss on the battle level live off TV cameras or was it players not going to the right spaces away from the puck to capitalize?
Thanks Carol, I’m not worried about stats from the 80’s on 5 game serie, there are literally no parallels to then and now, other than its five games. Neutral site, 4 months off, no fans, no direct media, no going out for dinner and getting wasted. Canucks have been much better at bouncing back after a tough game. I anticipate that Miller and Pettersson will be the best players on the ice in game 2.
