Lots to talk about in the downtime we have (yet again). So being out of the loop on a lot what's the plan for starting the 2020-21 season? Will there be a significant break or will they start the season soon after this playoffs Cup Finals end? Since whoever wins the Cup it should be around the time when the normal season starts (maybe mid October).

I could be wrong, but I think the rumor is that the season will start in December. There was a little chatter of the first game of the season being the winter classic, but I'm not sure if that was real or just an idea.

The last thing I saw was that the NHL intended to play a full 82 game season next year with the season starting no earlier than the beginning of December.

I mean the players all had the equivalent of a full offseason and even more really w the shutdown but figure the teams that play deep into these playoffs would need more than just a few weeks off before then starting a full season for 20-21

The plan is for early December but I guess it all depends how bad things get in the fall/winter. If things get worse like some are predicting then I doubt it won't be till 2021

This is true, but.. eventually the league is going to have to (or you would think they would try to) figure out a way to wedge the NHL season back into its traditional calendar slot, right?

Technically speaking, slim and none do count as chances. Two, in fact.

I would think so. As much as I LOVE HOCKEY there's something strange about jumping in the pool in between periods of a game

there's only 1 way for the Rangers to pick 9th overall

Winnipeg needs to win the lottery and Montreal, Chicago, Arizona and Minnesota win their series

Didn't winnipeg win the lottery initially? Their card was pulled but since they were still in the playoffs why it wasn't announced.

If we dont' get the pick, only fair they do
