Lavy hired by the Caps. AMAZING. How did they pull that off? Oh yeah, only our dysfunctional franchise goes shopping in the bargain bin for leadership. |

It's sad because it shouldn't hurt me but it kind off does, it's like being the unpopular kid in school who gets chosen last for sports and that the hot girls don't want to date. |

He is joining a team that is set to contend immediately versus a rebuild with a new GM. Caps had the leverage and we had none so he asked for more money from Devils and longer term.
If this upsets you, get ready for free agency, where we will have to pay more to get lesser players. It's just how it is, until we are relevant again. Devils are pretty quiet on every trade rumor site out there. Hoping Fitz is working the phones as deals are already being made. |

Hello all, question - does anyone know when Fitz can negotiate with Palms and the Goose? I think he would want that nailed down before all this trading/drafting happens. I would be happy if both want to sign reasonable contracts here, which I think might be the case with Palms. Gusev is a wild card, but if he does not want to play here would love to get some nice assets for him. |

They still have time left on their contracts so I wouldn’t worry too much until next year |

Do you know that he took less from the Caps? Not arguing just I don't know what the numbers are. Because I'm curious if it's just a matter of the Caps meeting his price vs. us not willing to pay him. |

Dev's hold the power in negotiations. We could easily land a Coleman-esque return on either or both of them with 50% retained at the deadline. Both players would be highly sought by any team in a good playoff position at that cap hit. That being said, we ink them in an ideal world. Hopefully 4 years or less term and both should be hovering in the 4.5-5.5M AAV range. |

Re-sign Goose, trade Palmieri. Palms style of play just doesn't age well and we can see it in a lot of power forward style players who in their early 30s just fall apart. I think a team would be really interested in having a 30 goal scorer on a reasonable contract for a season and would rather trade assets than overpay in free agency. |
