He's not worth the contract that's why .. who's to say jack leaves then we're stuck with sam for 6 or 7 years

Who are the Sabres to have anyone want to be here at market value?

I'm so tired of these conversations as we hover around last place

I'm not looking to sign a guy that is successful with just one player I've seen that story before
We signed 2 of them on UFA day

with the uncertainty of jack the sabres can not overpay sam or give him a long term deal

There is a lot of up and down there, not much consistency and he had a 40 goal here and a 14 goal here. A 14, 18, 20 and 13 goal season that may project to 25 or less depending on if he was in his on year or off year, just sayin.
- GilPerreault11

first 5 carolina years, kinda: 31, 20, 25 (projected,) 33, 18
next three years, not so much: 28, 37, 24

then 40 in buffalo and 14 last year

of note, during his worst seasons (18, 14) he had an identical 7.7% shooting percentage

skinners biggest problem is his defensive shortcomings...offense is always there but sometimes they just don't go in

PFF on Allen is basically the football version of Gerbe on the Pegulas.

It's fact that he had a center for the last 25 games the year before and he sucked, it's fact that he played without topline centers in Carolina and sometimes produced and sometimes didn't/ It's fact that Brindamour wanted his butt out of Carolina, it is hoped that he will produce with a better center and be productive next year before faltering again.
- GilPerreault11

But you agree that he would have had a better season with a better center, right? Or you think who his center is is just irrelevant?

Bad clock management on both the offence and defence.

They had two drives up 14-13 to take time off the clock and did nothing with it, we had to punt and only killed a minute after starting a drive at midfield with a few minutes remaining leading to their ensuing go ahead score.

Fangio should have used his timeouts earlier on the Titans last drive to give us more time at the end of the game to try and drive for our own game winning field goal.

- Pegullaville

The timeouts (lack of) made Fangio look old and out of touch with football.

They still ran the ball well, played good d and had a decent qb.

Isnt that the foolproof formula you've been throwing around for years?

BIG L

maybe throw the ball and put some points on the board?
Play good d
Pass to set up the run
Run your qb by design

His PP production is also a big factor in those swings. Get PP time = pad those points!

I like Keller, don't think I'd be super upset if that happened. I'd hope they would have to add as Samson is the better producer right now.

That being said though, the Sabres tend to ruin potential as well. We have a pretty long list of top prospects that went POOF once they played here. Are we really different from AZ in that?

- RhinoFan

Lamar is great BUT i'm not considering him elite until he doesn't sh*t the bed in the playoffs. In the playoff game in his first year, I've never seen a worse QB performance than his 1st half. He was better in the 2nd half but the game was over by then. Year 2, don't let his stats deceive you. He literally fumbled (and took bad sacks) the game away in the 1st half. In the second half he padded his stats nicely, but, again he lost the game in the first half

I've went from really not liking Reinhart too much to not understanding why you don't just lock him up long term and let him continue to help Eichel in transition and defensively, while scoring 20-25 goals and 55-60 points.

He's good. Not a world beater, just really good.

- sbroads24

I think half of the reason is that we don't have much else to trade. People want a 2nd line center, nothing else in our lineup can be traded straight up for one, so options are minimal.

The Titans ran the ball better and held up better defensively.

The Titans won the game.

So didn’t the formula work ?

Well both teams really try and pound the ball and play good defense. One of them has to win the game...

But if you talk to the fans and look at the stats they all say those players Would increase their point potential on different teams dramatically

True, we have a lot of space, so I just hope the flat cap is a net gain for us. Moving Risto or Okposo is just out this year though.

Some they might be right about. Not sure tbh. Just was pointing out that we have been notoriously bad at developing talent here, wondered if you thought we could get "the best" out of a guy like Keller or not.

Arizona is actually a good team to look at, with the problems they are having, and if Sullivan is kept as GM. I know there has been talk there already.

Think it depends on how much Adams, Crowe and Nightingale really try to bring in players that fit where there suppose to, instead of a square into a round hole.

I would think the Broncos would run less two tight end sets if they had Courtland Sutton and KJ Hamler and would have tried to throw the ball more.

Take Steffon Diggs and Cole Beasley off the field and the Bills would have to improvise no ?

Injuries are a part of the game and that’s life. Even with no Sutton, Hamler, and Phillip Lindsay not playing the 2nd half the Broncos had a chance to win the game had Lock and the offence not sputtered when it mattered most

I inferred it from your passion in defending him and every trade proposal is not good enough. Just like your inference that Rivet outwardly said every D is good.
- GilPerreault11

Bad inferrence, and the bold is simply untrue. I defended the player that Sam Reinhart is, not that he is untouchable or untradable.

My inference of Rivet is based on actual quotes, unlike your inference of me. Go ahead, listen to 10 hours of Rivet talking about defensemen. Most, if not 99% of them he talks about are "good".
