Yeah actually had 7 goals and 3 assists in the 15 games that they played together, before that Sweden trip, after that Skinner fell apart. Henrique might actually work really well with Skinner.

Is "might" worth a gamble on that contract though?

I used to point to Teuvo Teravainen as the best comp, but he's pulled ahead of Sam. 5 years @ 5.4m, coming off a similar 2 year bridge. It's a bargain, but a fair starting point for Sam.

Good post

Sam @5 for 27 million or less , would be a good signing for both sides.

That's the problem, send a little money back or get them to eat a little could make it work.

You think he'll take half of what Jack makes? I mean I think that is what he is worth but I don't think he does.

1/2 the salary

But Teuvo's contract is literally one of the best in the entire league. To put in in perspective, Teravainen was 8th in the league in cost-per-point.

He got paid like a 50pt winger, after having the one big season. Palat, Zucker and Niederreiter were all considered comparables. He just elevated post signature IMO.

Wouldn't hate it if they ate some cheddar. With their self imposed salary cap, that may be an uphill battle. But I like that there's some options, hopefully Adams explores literally every one possible.

Playing with Aho and Svechnikov helps.

In fairness, he signed that deal in the middle of a 76 point season, coming off a 64 point season. I think it's fair to say he was the better player when he signed that deal. It's team friendly, but it's also only 5 years.

Can KA pull off a good deal here? No clue. I doubt it will start with a 5, but it's a fair starting point.

No idea because the TOI doesn't matchup for the regular season or playoffs

That line was fun to watch. Why they ever went back to Nino instead of Svech is beyond me. They generate so much offense together.

If my math is right, going off him signing at the 41 game mark for easy math (scoring half his points in that span) he would've had a career .63ppg average before contract and .93 after. It's a pretty big jump. He might have had the edge on Samson (career .71ppg), but not by a ton IMO.

I hope KA does. We need a few good deals on quality players to get the wheel back to turning here. I'm saying 6 years 39M and I'm happy.

One dimensional offense when he is on and shoots accurately but he is not a passer, set up or even a sniper, PP player. He is who he is and not my cup of tea nor Carolina's or any other team in the league when they were shopping him. When the top piece they got was a 2nd round pick in a package of lower picks the market wasn't there for him either but it sure is on this site for some reason. I guess many years of little offense 36 goals in 57 games will enamor you with some and then 18 goals since will be overlooked.
- GilPerreault11

for years buffalo had trouble scoring 5v5...

during skinner's eight years in carolina his 142 ev-goals was seventh in the league for those playing 500 or more games but his 1.08 goals/60 at 5v5 was third best trailing only stamkos (1.26) and nash (1.18)...

i get that he's not your cup of tea but he was a huge get to help the sabres biggest scoring weakness

He'll bounce back this year with 35g or so and people will love him again.

Get him a reasonable center and he gets 25 on L2. It's not rocket science what they need to do. Get two centers. At least 1

All of the above is undeniably true.

I remember when Ponderosa used to be popular, or even open.

Ditto The Ground Round.
