Risto or Montour/mitts and Aspland for him.

Add the 2021 first if you have to

He’s decent when he’s healthy. He’s just never healthy.

1 year deal and it only costs a 7th rd pick.

With Pitt retaining 50%.

If there is a way to convince Montreal to deal us Danault that would be a home run. Perfect 2C behind Eichel and perfect compliment to Skinner

50% retained for conditional-nothing. That tells us a lot of about the market for dumping cap and salary.

It's a low risk deal. Time will tell if it's good.
- Powerslave

exactly and if he has a decent season could be traded at the TDL for more than a 7th.

Yup. Lol. Exactly. If we learned anything the last few years. You can get rid of player and free cap space. Just is going to cost you

Now I need a new ridiculous obsession. Bjustead is gone. Ollie is still at the airport. MFE is teaching kids to lift weights. This is gonna take some soul searching....

I think you absolutely would have to. Mitts and asplund are reclamation projects at this point (Something that rarely pans out) and even the roster players suggested are extremely mediocre.

I think a pick involving the 2021 first for me would be top 10 protection on the pick, kahun, and a 2022 3rd if the pick slides to 2022 and the sabres make it out of the bottom 10. I think this is fair since the sabres should finish a lot better with him, there really isn’t any other centres available of monahan’s caliber and using the overpayment the isles gave the sens for pageau as a lower end comparable. Not to mention that this move would be from a push from ownership to be competitive when their team should probably just play out what will likely be a shortened 2020-2021 season and look ahead to where they want their team to be at the start of the 2021-2022 season.

I would also like to remind you that I’m just warning you of the realistic downside on a potential trade for monahan. His reputation is enough to have many divided on wether a one for one swap for your 8th which is in an an allegedly amazing draft is fair, the high end of his actual value may be worth an 8th in a normal to below average draft (I will admit I don’t know how good 2021 is supposed to be). He’s still a borderline 1st line C a year removed from producing over a point a game and the trades that our GM has lost on he hasn’t lost by much. Long story short you’re probably not going to get a massive discount on him in spite of his flaws.

The loser of this hypothetical deal should be whichever team is more desperate to make it which I don’t think is Calgary which is why I don’t think buffalo should make it.

First line Anthony Cirelli: 82% shot share, 89% expected goal share.

That’s f**king insanely good

“Sean Monahan is worth Dylan Cozens AND the #8 pick AND another pick/player”.

Sincerely,

Many drunken, delusional Calgary fans.

- Pairo11

If that pick/player is Kyle Okposo, then its not that delusional. But anything other than that albatross contract is overpayment for Buff. However, banking on Cozens to be the X factor 2C to get the Sabres into the postseason in the next 2 years is foolish.
