Dylan Cozens should be able to play 2C next year,
maybe even this year

And i haven’t given up on Mitts yet

I guess we’ll see

Likely weren’t bringing back MoJo anyways

I feel the same way.

I have a ton of faith in Cozens.

I also had a ton of faith in Mittelstadt

I don’t want hopes.

They needed to get a legit long term center.

I like Staal for the most part other than the potential cliff. His numbers were better than I Initially thought

Thought the Pegulas were going cheap?
Isn’t Stephan over $6mil??

If we are taking him,
they better be giving up a really good piece(s) along with to take their Cap dump

Mitts will make it once everyone realizes he’s a winger at the NHL level but I wouldn’t expect him to be a top 6 stud at this point. He should be a serviceable NHL’er though.

Cozens will be a top 6 forward the only question is whether it’s at wing or at Center. For the time being he should definitely start on the wing.

Staal fills a hole at 2C or 3C and is better than Mojo and $1.25M cheaper on the cap.

Analytics guy(s) earned his paycheck today.

i hope there’s another move to ensure he isn’t in that spot this year.

If there is I’ll be gravy.

This just feels like the “big move” to me

Great trade today. Staal is on fumes but I think given his last couple of years he has one more good year in him. That's all we need him for as we'll know much more about the kids at this time next year.

Expecting Dylan Cozens to be a 2C on a winning team as a rookie is dumb! Eric Stall is an excellent move and puts an end to the Monahan talk.

I don't know who would hate this trade you basically got a 2nd center for free lol..

No one should be complaining

Alright. Done being negative.

It’s absolutely good value for Johansson.

Guerin acknowledged not many teams trade their No.1 centers, but he felt the team needed to mix things up and it gets younger with this trade.

Nothing says shaking things up like trading one of your better players for a 3rd line winter and then asking said winger to play center when he can't play center.
