My only concern. Skinner and Staal did not mesh well together.

or 1st, his size gives them something they've been lacking

Skinner’s rookie year says otherwise my friend.

I believe that’s the only year they actually played together but that’s just speculation off the top of my head.

Just listened to the conference call, well executed dodge on the cap question. Makes it pretty clear that they will have an internal cap.

murray and botts had the right answers at first as well

I wish him well

- navinrjohnson

I disagree. Murray's first trade was giving away an NHL defenseman for two picks and 2 minor leaguers.

Botterill's first trade was Beaulieu for a piss bucket.

The way I see it Pegula will spend the money if it’s one of the guys he wants.

Chad D. speculated that if Pietrangelo made it to FA we would be a player for his services

- Pegullaville

love what pietrangelo has brought, would hate signing a 30 yr. old d-man to a 7yr. deal in the $10M range

Staal was a different player back then. They were two guys who loved possession. I think Staal these days is more of a playmaker.

I agree. We would hate the last 3 years of that deal.

If Pietrangelo meant we could rid of ourselves of both Risto and Montour though for picks maybe there is a way it could work very well in the short term.

THIS!!!!

Skinner Eichel Cozens
Olofsson Staal Reinhart
Casey Kahun Vesey?
Girgensons Lazar Moulson

I would prefer Cozens to be in Vesey's spot and have another RWer added somehow but Cozens and Eichel together is interesting

Or maybe the 36 rumor of hammer and Garland happens. Still not sure if he’s a LW or RW. But if he slots in at 2rw...

Olo. Jack. Samson
Skinner. Staal. Garland
Kahun. ???. Cozens
RochesterLarry. LazarLarry. ConcussedLarry

Dahlin. Hammer.
??? Risto
McCabe. Joker

Love 💖 that 4th line, hopefully they bring back D'Agostini or Szezchura as the 13th forward

they'd have an $18-20M top pairing defense along with a $10M center, $9M winger, a useful $6M+ winger and a way overpaid $6M winger...that's around $50M invested in six players

This trade offers a lot of mobility for the roster.

if hey can surround cozens with quality on the third line, i'm all for putting him there and letting him learn the position

I am not opposed to that either. Point is, it gives them options.

Sign Soderberg and trade Risto for a young LHD and a 4th. The roster would be miles better than last year while still being lean
