Well if Raymond is available at 6, I’d assume it’s because Ottawa took Drysdale at 5

If Ottawa goes Sanderson at 5 I’ll do cartwheels

- Pegullaville

There are rumors about Ottawa taking Sanderson, but those are only rumors.

Good grief, he's not retiring lmao. If nothing else he's not gonna do that to a former team mate just cutting his teeth in a very prestigious job. And yes, Kevyn said he talked to him. Everyone can relax.

him and GMKA played together, i gotta think Kev called him before the trade.. right?
- SabresFaninIndiana

Apparently he put all the teams that are contenders on his no trade list - per TSN

Which makes me think He just wanted to stay put And was traded the next day

Except you traded a halfway decent player for zip, zero, nada, then.

Only Buffalo fans would think this was OK.

- Powerslave

With the cap situation league wide, the most anybody though Johansson would return in a trade would be a 4th round pick.

His $4.5M salary was the biggest hurdle.

It's why many are surprised Minnesota took him in exchange for Staal.

I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised as anything is possible.

Anaheim doubling down and taking Drysdale would be nice.

Would mean we are guaranteed either Rossi or Raymond.

Then we proceed to take Holtz and I punch a hole through my drywall 😂

Kevyn did say he had a "great conversation" with him, but you never know how you'll feel after sleeping on it.

I'm sure he's going to play, though.

minus the fact that this will be the 2nd player to retire or quit instead of coming to play for the Sabres.

Plus when it is a borderline HOF player, if he retires instead of reports its a really bad look for Buffalo.

It's been reported we weren't on his list.

Pragmatic... we are better than we were yesterday. This is, of course, directly related to reports that Staal would retire if he were traded.

As long as Staal plays out his contract, we are better than we were.

No black could, simple pragmatism.

Now, what’s the Power Trio do for their second move?

Rw?
Sign Samson?
2LD?
3c?
Trade d man?

- Gr8daygo

Report singular, not reports plural.

The person that broke that 'report' also added the following, which nobody seemed to pay attention to: Lebrun also added that he doesn't necessarily see Staal retiring. The relationship with Adams being the obvious reason why he wouldn't.

Its not a bad look tbh he probably Just doesn't want to be away from his family and move etc ..

As a father I'm sure you can understand that

He didn't waive.

Neither his original nor his revised list of 10 teams he would not accept a trade to had the Sabres on it.

He is surprised because he never thought the Sabres would trade for him.

I mean, aren't we all surprised as well?

Then it's poor asset management.

These UFAs are not lining up to play here, so you can talk about all this cap room, but cap room is only good if you're able to utilize it.

I see we're shoe-horning a player who has proven nothing in the NHL into a position previously held by a player who has scored 20 goals in 42 games.

(frank)ing classic.

We should demote Eichel and give Cozens a chance to play 1C.

We should also demote Dahlin to give Bryson a chance to play 1LD

He was on pace for 58 on a not so good Minny team.

I say 55-65 points depending who is linemates are.

He’s only missed like 23 games in his entire career.

Seems like we are doing everything opposite anyways, the new Sabres way.

I'm so god damn sick of this team forcing players into positions just for (frank)ing cause.

Play where you (frank)ing belong.

Adams, and thank the lord baby Jesus, seems to be very conscious of 'fit'.

Can we call the Bryson, Okposo, Omark the "Boo" line? Cuz that's (frank)ing SCARY AF.

Yet here you are trying to force Tiger Woods into a 4th line role, when he's clearly a goalie.

Moran.

Well that's one of the things I liked about the interviews with Adams and Nightingale, finding and putting players in positions were they succeed together
