Steady Eddie's season was really a microcosm of the entire teams season as a whole. The team was no where near ready to play NHL caliber hockey to open the season and got off to a horrendous start. That was on DeBoer and the coaching staff. They also hadn't replaced an entire line of scoring with the departures of Pavs, Donskoii, and Nyquist. Lebanc, who had been challenged by the coaches to show that he belonged in the NHL after a bad 1st half, reverted back to that 1st half form all year. Burns, who couldn't play actual D and should be placed back at forward, lost scoring with no Pavs to tip in shots any longer.
Pickles had to play with 2 riverboat gamblers on D and his plus/minus and other fancy stats show that. He's still the most trustworthy D man on the team and will play in all key situations. After this next season, he is still one of the 3 D that I protect in the expansion draft...
It should be an interesting next season
