We should go after Jared McCann - Rexypoo
Isn’t he just Copp and Lowry? Why the need? I don’t see 2nd line Center upside |

He is also drafted and developed by the Jets. Wade Flaherty makes all goalies he coaches great! - TheUltimateJet

I am not sure you read Anthony's article where he is talking about successful playoff teams having a 1A and 1B option. Both Crawford and Talbot make excellent 1B options. - TheUltimateJet
They were both top 10 goalies this year tbh |

I think Brossoit is actually a pretty good goalie who just needs to play more, he plays so little that when he gets a start it's after such a long layoff there's some rust in his game.
The more successful teams are running a split tandem or 1A/1B setup with their goalies but Maurice has historically ran his starting goalie pretty heavily so I don't see that changing anytime soon.
If they looked to get a different backup I think Greiss would be good but he'll want $$/term and that's probably better spent elsewhere in the lineup like on C, D or improving the bottom 6 so probably best to just stay with Brossoit for another year.
I really hope Berdin can challenge for a job soon and isn’t lost to Seattle. |

I like it Rexy, anytime I've watched McCann play it looks like there's a pretty good player there, if the acquisition cost isn't crazy he'd be worth taking a flyer on. |

Comrie is 25 years old, and was slightly above league average this year. In the AHL. After many subpar seasons. - Rexypoo
The jets didn’t pick him up believing his future is in the nhl. (Don’t tell Eric). They believe in his work ethic and his attitude. He is the perfect player to mentor young goalies in the system. Berdin is the #3, and had opportunity to become #2 this year but will be in the ahl because that is where the minutes are. I don’t think he needs to be exposed in expansion though Comrie may be eligible |

You can only protect one goalie! And, I think Comrie will be a UFA by then. |

From nhl.com: “All first- and second-year NHL players, and all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward protection limits.)”
(teams are obligated to expose*) “One goalie who is under contract in 2021-22 or will be a restricted free agent at the end of his current contract immediately prior to 2021-22”
Jets won’t have to expose him as he is not a first year player yet. They will need to expose a goalie though so that may mean more term for Brossoit, Comrie or picking up another draft eligible goalie in the next season or so.

If he looked good as the back-up for the Jets I would take him in the expansion draft. Better to keep him in the minors so Ron Francis doesn't get a look at him in the show.

Playing in the AHL is equivalent to playing in the NHL. He has a NHL contract does he not? |

Comrie isn’t good in the AHL, if that’s who you’re referring to.
Berdin is probably ready - Rexypoo
Comrie hasn't had a decent NHL game. He however was the better goalie on the Moose last year with a .918 save percentage to Berdin's .910. It was a good call getting Comrie back on the Moose as Berdin was starting to regress with the increased workload and horrible team in front of him. Young goalies tend to cheat on positioning when they don't have confidence in the players in front of them being able to execute the system.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see Broissoix back considering his relationship with Helly. He could however slip away though as our priorities are on defence and center. Chevy may save every penny he can to get free agents better than Bitetto and Bouque. I think it says something that he's not signed all ready and if Chevy is focusing on bigger fish, he can easily get away. Holm is also signed and on loan but we can call him back to backup Berdin.

I’d be shocked if Berdin is even on Seattle’s radar. They will have plenty of very good goalie options that right now I’d have higher than Berdin.

Almost positive that Berdin will be eligible to be selected by the Krakens.
"If a player has three or more years of pro experience (NHL, AHL or ECHL) at the end of 21 season, they are expansion eligible." (10 or more games by Dec 31 = 1 yr)
Believe Berdin has three years all ready.

This is correct! Because otherwise teams would just leave all their players in the A in order to prevent the Kraken from taking them. I can just imagine the fit the NHLPA would have with that! |

It's a big gamble to pick a prospect goalie in an expansion draft. Especially when they could pick a goailie further in development that is already an NHL back-up. They are more likely to pick Copp or Roslovic who are the most likely to be exposed if they are not traded. You could easily trade one of those two for multiple picks to stock your cupboards. |

Copp will be protected. Roslovic I can see traded this offseason, so really an expiring Lowry is the most at risk |

I hope Dallas wins now. I have to make an addition to my previous post about this.
How hilarious it is that that would make 2 straight Central division Cup winners that also fired their coach mid-season |

It's not hilarious Rexypoo. It shows that you can have the exactly same team but change the coach and get to the cup final. Something the Jets should be paying attention to.

With Brodin getting signed that leaves them with Suter and Spurgeon as the 3 you would think the Wild protect. Perhaps their is a fit packaging Roslovic for Dumba, especially with room with their forwards opening up with them moving on from Koivu and Staal finishing his contract at the end of next season. |
