He was drafted by the Jets. Let's not forget about the infamous trade that had him go to the Wings for $1USD.

The number of different stories there are out there about that trade is pretty funny.
But again, you see my point.

No it's Adam Lowry. Noway should he get the icetime he does. Gets more time than anyone on our second line.

Lol. Dude has one down season, followed by a dominant return to play, and you hate him forever to the point of hyperbole

He has one good season in the last 5 years. And, he only played half the games that year. Look up the fancy stats, they back me up!

With this Covid pandemic - and the border closing - wonder if the NHL might consider a Canadian Division this year? That's if we play!

I disagree. Berdin has a VERY bright future

I think Holm might be better

Maybe Seattle will do the Jets a favor and take Logan Stanley off of their hands. He is big after all, I've been told that's an asset.
- BWJumper

Stanley is not good but dallas is now in the cup final and are probably the biggest heaviest team in the league
So yes. Size with skill is pretty good.
Big and no skill or small and no skill is the same it’s bad.
But if skill is equal, take the bigger stronger guy.

Not really. The 2nd line was dominant with Copp. Everyone who plays with Copp sees a jump in performance. I’d say improving the performance of your linemates in every measurable way while adding a defensive presence not seen in our top 6 since Stastny left and Wheeler declined is pretty fantastic.
All that was needed was patience for the shooting percentage to level out, and even then they were out-scoring the opposition.

Be careful Rexy, there are a lot of fans in here that like losing 5-4 if it means we have more guys in the scoring leaders. They have no interest in winning more games if that means our 2nd line Center doesn’t have 70 points.

Speaking of 2nd line centres, we could’ve had Eric Staal for cheap

I didn't see any of that, saw plenty of meh hockey with nothing much happening.
Copp would make a fine 3C but that's it.

We already have one 35 year old in our top 6. That’s enough. Plus I’m not all sure Staal reports, might just hang them up. I heard he was blindsided and purposely had all playoff teams in his no trade list as he didnt want to be moved

Chevy is too focused on the draft, he doesn't have time to make trades or sign players.

Impossible he could only void trades to 10 teams.

I think many people on this board have bought into the Paul Maurice philosophy of coaching wher only one line does all the scoring, while the others just take up time. Copp is great at possession and does have some offensive upside. He has the ability to keep other first lines honest as he would be a threat to score especially if paired with guys like Harkins or Roslovic. Realistically he should be a 40 point per year third line Center, especially if he is not paired with the anchor known as Adam Lowry. Imagine the results if Lowry had to go up against guys like Seguin, O'Reilly, McDavid, Draisatl, etc... on a regular basis, we would not even be in the game!

Having two lines that can score at a .8ppg clip and having a third line that scores at a .50+ppg clip would cause matchup nightmares for opposing teams. Look at Tampa Bay, And cup winning teams like the Capitals, Blackhawks, Kings and Penguins, they all had that winning formula.

Maybe Staal was able to predict who the final 10 teams left in the playoffs were going to be.

This is true, Chevy is unable to handle multiple priorities at one time. Must be the reason he needs to take so many days off!

Oleksiak has risen to the occasion! Of course it helps to have Klingberg and Heiskanen, but size does help the skilled guys! Play bigger and better!

I heard a couple trade deadlines ago I think it was that Staal's no trade list consisted of mostly playoff teams, seems like he really didn't want to leave Minnesota, wonder if he'll retire rather then report to Buffalo.

He’s succeeding by way of his strong skating, positioning, and sudden offensive savviness

And I'm pretty sure the size, that he's always had, didn't hurt him either. For whatever reason, he has become an important cog on the Stars blue-line.
Heiskanen has become an "All-American" first star! Wowsers!

I’m not weighing in with an opinion just throwing crap at the wall to be aware of the possibility.

Don’t rule out jets considering Stepan in Zona or even signing 37 year old Mikko Koivu to a one year deal to play with Laine
