Actually think thats a great trade for Minny. Johanssen is a really talented younger player. They can audition him, see how he fits and decide if they want to lock him up long term or trade him out as a rental.

Could work out for Pittsburgh too when Buffalo poops the bed and flips him at the deadline.

He'll be 30 next month and has the injury history of a 40 year old. He is not a "younger" player. Technically younger than Eric Staal, but he doesn't make the team younger in practice.

Younger than Staal, for sure injury history but Staal wasn't going to be there beyond this year. It gives both teams a bit of something they need.

I'm more concerned about Mtl getting Edmonson for $3.5m and we pay Petterson $4m.

Its not that he is a huge game changer but he is a better more proven player and he signed for less years less money.
