Johnsson makes about $2.5M per year in real dollars (not cap hit) for his remaining 3 years.

Anyone who suggests this is an untradeable contract is drinking too much blue Haterade.

It's easy to hate as a fan of an opposing team, especially when that team is not the Leafs. Their Leafy play and outcomes is pure fodder and the ridiculous Leafs fan base/media make us easy targets.

Who said "top end"?

People who HATE the Leafs think Dubas made a fantastic trade.

- RogerRoeper

Because they cant believe they got a 1st for Kap.
Not because of Hallander

Seguin’s comments last night were refreshing. The majority of players don’t give a (frank) about analytics. It’s an dying fad.

I don't think on any other team someone would seriously say Jonsson can't be moved. it's ridiculous.

It's like the stuff about Nylander. Go trade him to Florida and everyone blows him.

Hallander was a part of their overall opinion. He's tracking to be like a Kapanen.

Dallas adds cheap depth and they're geniuses LOL.

Leafs have a core of Marner, Matthews, Tavares, Nylander, Rielly, Muzzin and nice supporting cast but all hope is lost...

20 goals, 43 points in 73 games in his rookie year last year. Still very young.

If the coach is yelling "Corsi harder! Fenwick! Fenwick! Fenwick!" and the players aren't listening, do you bench the players or fire the coach?

I mean he was asked about the fact that the Stars are the first team with a negative goal differential to make the cup finals since 1968.

Not sure "more goals against than for" is really "analytics".

We’d get a good haul for Nylander. I think you’re wrong there. I’m not his biggest fan but there’s lots of GM’s that would get “tractor beamed” by his beauty.
- Garnie

Apparently the offers for Nylander weren't good and the offers for Kapanen was better. That is why they traded Kapanen. Mirtle did explain better, just that the offers for Nylander are undervalue and the offers for Kapanen were overvalued.

I don't think people will be happy for the return we get if we trade Nylander. No one is trading us a Jones or top pair RD for Nylander.

a rookie at 24/25 year old?
nhl player's production (in points) normally tops at age 27-28.
johnsson's only asset is point production.
connor brown was a better option to keep (he could actually pk).
johnsson is a nice player as a depth winger, but he's frankie vatrano on a more expensive deal.

I think we can get a top RHD without even moving Nylander

most non leaf fans were surprised the Leafs got so much for Kap, a lot of the talk I saw people didnt think they should get the 15th pick alone.

again, lots and lots of non leaf fans. Getting another decent prospect on top is very good imo

- senstroll

And yet, it was still a stupid deal that does nothing for the Leafs in their bid to improve playoff performance.

Hallander won't be in the NHL full time for years, if ever at all.

Knowing Dubas, he's going to trade down to 30th again and have a collection of players that won't play in the NHL for another 3-5 years, just in time for Matthews to walk as a UFA.

When you do the almost impossible, and become a quality NHL player after being selected in the 7th round, it's along journey. You won't be a 19 year-old rookie.

Connor Brown with 20:07 TOI and tons of PP time still did worse than Jonsson's year last season with such limited usage...
