Holl isn't that bad and certainly not as bad as Dermott on his off-side.

Also, three physically weak / immature rookies as the bottom pairing is just asking for a 1st round elimination at the hands of Boston, giving them a soft easy target to expose for easy goals.

- JohnFergusonJr

Yeah, Holl is that bad.

yes you're the only one who had predicted that..

(Wedgie's 19/20 prediction thread is full of people that predicted Dallas as finalists from the West (Colorado, Nashville and Vegas other favorites) -- in East Tampa and Toronto were the clear favorites of these HockeyBuzz 'experts' )

I called Dallas coming out of the west.
- RogerRoeper

Yes, you and many others.

Glad they went through and not LV.

Great News in the fight against COVID-19!

Scientists at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine have isolated “the smallest biological molecule” that “completely and specifically neutralizes” SARS-CoV-2, and this information has has been used to create the drug Ab8.

Progress is being made daily by leaps and bounds...

I believe we can all be pretty confident of a full and prosperous season starting in or around the new yr.

this is indeed interesting news.
have to take into account though that these results are based on animal tests (mice, hamsters) -- so far in vaccine development in general, there have been very limited amount of animal models developed that have proven to be predictive for results in humans.. (heavily dependent on the pathogen).

developing a preventive vaccine based on such amonoclonal antibodies platform will still take one year at least though (and that's best case scenario). that is, in addition to the administration route options that need to be considered. (Like the Pitt and UPMC vaccine candidate PittCoVacc that delivers an immunization through a spiky Band-Aid-like patch and overcomes the need for needles and refrigeration, the researchers are “thinking outside the box” when it comes to how Ab8 could be administered. Its small size might allow it to be given as an inhaled drug or intradermally, rather than intravenously through an IV drip, like most monoclonal antibodies currently in development.)

Cool. All progress is great. I’m not sure how we get from this point through three stages of human testing by the start of the new year. Others may know more.

I haven’t heard anything credible suggesting that those vaccines in the third stage of testing now will be ready for some kind of limited use before the new year. Polling suggests lots of people are sceptical about taking a vaccine if they think there’s been political pressure involved in the approvals.

I’d be surprised to see full arenas at the start or middle of next year.

Here’s a sick retirement admission: I’ve had work related dreams in the last few months. Not necessarily my old work reality but different work situations. And I’m not even getting paid.

Dallas signing Perry reminded me why Holland signed Dallas Drake back in 2007. It was for the 2008 playoffs. Nill (former Wings assistant GM) knew what Perry could bring when it counted the most.

Every year or so there is one reclaim project player that makes it to the cup final on a stellar team that everyone at that moment says...oh the leafs should have signed him oh the leafs missed out on him etc. Sorry, the Leafs couldn't have afforded Perry then and not now.
Spezza had more pts in the regular season and was a lot cheaper. Leafs made the right choice.
Spezza - 25pts
Perry - 21pts

yes Perry has 6pts in 21 playoff games where Spezza had 0 in 5 games. However, Perry hasnt gotten a pt in the past 7 games....had the leafs gone deeper, Spezza could have turned it on.

My Cup final was Toronto vs. Dallas, got one team right... My most disappointing team was Buffalo.. I got that one right as well.

Also, I was way off on my player predictions... Not sure why I thought Petan would get 12 points and I way overvalued Hutchinson.

This may sound incredibly selfish, but I wish the scientific community would quit focusing on a COVID-19 vaccine, and instead dedicate their efforts to finding a cure for Muzzin's life-ending injury.

Spezza for 700K was a fantastic signing. Leafs can't sign every veteran. The numbers have to work.

A few days after the Stanley Cup is awarded, I'll do a new thread where everyone can evaluate their picks.

Anyone know if I can get this on the main page?

K, some of my predictions were slightly off, but they are the funniest.

Also I actually underestimated Nylander. I said 30 goals in a full season.
