The Flames and Wild do match up well as trade partners. The Wild are long 1D, the Flames 1F with the 3D, 7F expansion draft protection formula in mind.
I propose Dumba, Kunin, #9 for Mony, Mang, Kylington and #19. Kunin does have big time potential, right shot, 197 lbs and has a long history playing with Chucky. This deal assumes Lucic waives his NMC, the Flames would make a side deal to expose GIO to Seattle and protect Dumba, Ras & Hanifin.

Absolutely not if Mang is included. That deal without Mang is fair already.

In what world is Markstrom an elite goalie? He was 27th in GAA, 15th in svpct, and lost his job in the playoffs.

Complain about the Flames goalies all you want, but they still gave up less goals than the Canucks. It's not like the Flames are an amazing defensive team either. Stick with Talbot and Rittich if the other option is paying Markstrom 35 million, or 30 million, or 25 million, or 20 million.

Talbot had better numbers than Markstrom last year except games played, and Talbot could easily handle 50 games at this point.

GAA is a team stat and an atocious way to measure a goalie's ability individually.

Your sentence contradicts itself. Markstrom played far more games than Talbot. Weren't you the one b!tching to Todd about small sample sizes meaning nothing to evaluate a goaltender? Why are you doing it now.

Talbot played 26 games and you think you can just double those numbers and not expect a drop?

I like Talbot but that's a terrible argument. He had .919 compared to Markstrom's .918 at a far larger sample.

And like a previous poster said - his in-depth stats are far higher (ie. HDsv%). He's the only reason Vancouver stayed afloat this year and they'll be the first to tell you that.

Largely ok with this, but would peel out Valimaki down to the 3rd pairing, left side - bring back Brodie for top pair OR go nab an equivalent via trade/FA. By the end of next season, we should have a new top pairing emerging... Gio needs to move down lineup at some point and I think Ras needs top pairing minutes to see if he can take on that load sans Gio.

I think Valimaki will establish himself as one of our top 2 dmen next year, and I don't think it will take him long to do it. It sucks having him on his off side (maybe Gio or Hanifin would be better at it?) but I really do believe the only debate we'll be having next year concerning Valimaki will be who the 2nd best dman on the team is (Gio or Rass).

I feel like Rass is an in house right handed replacement for Gio, I wouldn't mind seeing them together as our shut down paring (Gio can't make as many rushes as he used to---let Rass take over the offense and have Gio play more of a defensive game)

I'm all in on signing Hall. I would let Brodie and Hamonic (especially Hamonic) walk and use the cap space we have left on a 1B backup and a 5/6 dman. We need firepower, and we need to make sure Colorado doesn't add Hall. Window is closed for us if we let that happen IMO.

I think it would be a big mistake to blow the team up right now. Trades will have to be made ahead of the expansion draft anyway, that's when major changes should be made if this team still can't get it done.
