Better be for 16th overall pick and poehling or maybe Danult its rumors until something actually happens. - Scott1977
Danault would make Strome our 5C ... I think he would be good there.

He'll have more value at the TDL. Teams in contention at the TDL going all in will pay more even for a rental. - boilermaker100
Unless their names are Lehner and Gustafson.

Most here assume the hawks have no potential goalie in the system. We have seen Delia start well and cool off. And we've seen Subban not be very effective in Vegas, although he was never given much of a chance. Lankinen tore up a world tournament and Tompkins is large and mobile. Neither of the last two have been given a chance, yet the line on them here is they are worthless. I would love to hear Jimmy Waite's thoughts on any of the four goalies potential. |

When I read those porcelain doll comments on Dach, io thought about Regala too.
The bumper rotes in and out the area and has two quick stick loose biscuits.
Dach may his living as a player who swoops in and cleans up rebound with his stick in front, and I think that is simply how he will play the game.
But you need that bumper now too.
back to Darcy Kuemper:
So, ASrizaon is going in adiffiernt direction in net, signing someone else, that they are offering Kuemper around?
That is puzzling....they getting Pittsburgh's Murray?
I think a second rounder might get him, because there were too many choices out there to hike up the price.
I would get an offering now. and sign him long term for a slight bump and work from there... - wiz1901
Well the Coyotes still have Antti Raanta in goal even though he is fragile as glass. They may go with him and one of their AHLers since they reportedly want to reduce their payroll by about 10M.
Charlie Roumeleotis of NBC Sports Chicago had a point regarding Kuemper. Since he carries a 4.5M cap hit for the next two seasons, why don't they just keep Carwford and pay hm that amount instead of parting with assets to obtain Kuemper? |

It should happen! - GlennL
Why should Gallant be hired? He has held 3 head coaching positions and was fired in his 3rd year with all of them. He caught lightning in a bottle his first season with Vegas, and pushed the right buttons with a bunch of guys who were cast aways into an expansion draft. Fired in Columbus, Fired in Florida, Fired in Vegas. Missed the playoffs or eliminated in first round in all but 1 season.
What makes you think he would be successful with the current Hawks roster? |

The above trade is about equal in $$$ going back and forth. But ARI is looking to cut costs. IMO, if they make any trades ARI will be looking for picks and cheap, young cost controlled players in return.

Before we jump on the Kuemper bandwagon, is there a fancy stat comparing his and Crawford's save % against HDSC? He'll face a boatload of them if he plays with the Hawks. |

Forget fancy stats, here is all you need to look at:
Crawford - #1 goaltender majority of his career - SC champion
Kuemper - #2 goaltender majority of his career.
Is he ready to be a #1? If they are around equal money, stick with Crow. |

I don't think Arizona wants a defense of Goligoski, Hjarmellson, Matta, DaHaan and Osterle, Chycrun and Demers. Way too much money, way to slow and way to old. They would prefer to lose Kessel before OEL anyway.

The six and a half year age differential just might have something to do with that. Also their relative injury histories. Also the team's assessment of their off ice risk factors.

But now the Hawks have to deal with that OEL contract for several more years.

If Arizona is the Arizona i know, as soon as they signed OEL they regretted it. This isn't a hockey decision its a financial decision, hmmm $19 mil over 2 years or $64 mil over 7 |

Yet Staal didn't have Buffalo on that list? Something does not add up. - powerenforcer
Article about in in "The Athletic'. His 10 team no-trade list was all SC contenders, as they were the ones trying to get him at the trade deadline. He never thought Buffalo would have any interest in him. |

Arizona hired a hockey guy Armstrong who has a backround as a head of scouting and an assistant GM. He will be looking to gather draft choices, not someone else's used tires.

You know how it works 66...
If they were players or prospects with other teams they would be forbidden fruit and objects of desire (see Mikael Boedker or Jimmy Vesey). However, they are Hawk players/prospects. So they're worthless.

I have been thinking the same thing every time his name comes up. He definitely appears to have an "expiration date." In business, you are leary of hiring people with this kind of resume.
