I'd tender him his Q.O. and see if he accepts.

I cant imagine any scenario where he wouldn't accept.

I would take a second rounder.
- bmeltzer

That's ludicrous.

Ghost should not be traded at all. Ghost got hurt and was never really put back in the opportunity to succeed. Worst scenario possible, he is a great powerplay QB. The Flyers using a forward on the point is a mistake. Provorov and Ghost should both be there.

Trading him for a 2nd rounder would be a massive error.

So basically same ol same ol. Only way to get top talent in next few seasons is trade. Hopefully not young guys. My sole focus the next few years will be watching hart development more closely if we gonna roll with same ol same ol.

I'd rather have your second place point getter and reigning Selke winner on the top line as opposed to a 21-year-old with about a dozen games of experience.

What about multiple 2nds? Ottawa has 4 of them this year.

agree rather have him playing with himself in the press box adding zero value.

I would like to see the following lines. I am assuming resignings.

Lindblom-Coots-Voracek
Farabee-Hayes-TK
G-NoPa-JVR
Raffl-Laughton-NAK

Balanced scoring and defensive responsibility.

- mickel25

Swap frost for nopa and looks as good as it’s gonna get.

I don't want G and Frost together. I see them as similar type players. But I am open to anything with Frost and NoPa.

The Flyers are going to have to focus on signing their own RFA. It’s not going to be easy. They can do it but will they be able to offer long contracts to say Myers? May be rough but sacrifices will have to be made.

Cap is so tight being that it is locked in for 3 years. Gotta look down the road long term and see what contracts are going to expire and what can or can’t be resigned.

Not the year to start going FA signing. Trades yes.

Bill- I am assuming Patrick would have to clear waivers to get sent to Phantoms? If the AHL has a season in 20-21, I think him and Morin could benefit. My apologies for not knowing the contract status.

Flyers aren't going to put Patrick through waivers.

It may or may not be. If they play Gostisbehere and he doesn't play well then that degrades his value further. If he plays well, his value goes up. I would be on the latter.

They only have $8.9mil. Myers will get $3+ per year. They also need to sign a backup for Hart. Elliot would cost at least the same ($2mil) as this year. Between those two you are over $5mil. That means Pitlick, Grant, Thompson and Braun almost assuredly will not be back.

I think they Flyers will be focused on adding the right pieces. I think they know they are at a point if things fall right they can make it to the final 4. If there is a year you would trade your first it might be this year. I do think they will have to be patient with signing any RFA or any trade. Honestly I dont think you can have one without the other. You might have to put Ghost with your first and a prospect to get what you want back. You will have to move out salary if you bring a piece in.

The good news, the Flyers are set up pretty good with picks, prospects and someone like Ghost or a Laughton (who I would not trade unless it was a huge win) to make a deal to reshape the team.

It all gets back to Patrick I think, if and when they know he is really healthy that would be great but I fear they won't know until he plays 10 games or so.

Not seeing what your seeing. Yes, they can get the job done but Myers is going to get bank if they go long term with him. They could bridge him but look how that is going to turn out with Sanheim. He is due a good raise after next year. If they can squeeze a longer term contract with Myers it can save them down the road like Provy’s contract. The question is can they take the hurt in cap now. It would be difficult.

The 2.5M for buyouts now for MacDonald and Schlemko are hurting the flexibility now. Rob peter to pay paul.

Myers has played one NHL season. I don't see how he can be a candidate for a long term deal. Maybe a 5 year deal if he takes a real team friendly cap hit.

Thats your opinion. What part are you not grasping they didnt want andy mac around at all. Smart move to cut him loose. To bad the GM didnt see the pandemic coming.

Ask the young dman if they appreciated the help this year or would they rather have the cap space.

Right. So probably $6.5mil (Myers-$3.5 Hagg, NoPa, NAK all around $1mil per) for the RFA's plus Elliot or alternate back up. You are right at the cap.

Myers
Patrick

NAK

Yes, they will be able to sign them. But they may need to bridge Myers so they can bring back a UFA or two. They will have to sign a goalie. Both Moose and Lyon’s contracts are up. Think Lyon is a RFA if I remember Bill's blog correctly.
