Have you listened to Wooward's tapes? We knew Trump was a narcissist but the guy is so (frank)ing fragile and so needy it's pathetic.

I'm not a huge Biden fan but to suggest that there is any comparison between them is absurd. Trump deliberately neglected to act on Covid, knowing that people would die simply for his own political agenda.

He's finally run into something that he can't use daddy's money or another take from Mark Burnett to fake his way out of.

2. Please keep threads on-topic
Try to keep things on-topic. If Eklund writes a blog on Eastern Conference trade rumors, and you want to talk about the latest NHL video game, please locate the appropriate thread, or create a new one, in the forums.

And yes, there is some more leeway given for general discussion on the threads of the team’s bloggers. But when the thread is devoted to discussing hockey, keep to the point at hand.

yet he was xenophobic when he shut the borders. Amazingly his actions were faster and harsher than in Canada yet JT gets a free pass...TDS

Perhaps he's trying to force Suter and Parise to retire?
- Atomic Wedgie

Both the Suter and Parise deals were major cap circumvention deals. The kind that involve salary cap re-capture as was the case with Luongo and Vancouver. If they retire, the Wild are (frank)ed. They cannot be bought out for the same reason. If traded and they retire, same result for the Wild.

after the johansen trade, that seems like fair value.

seems like we could have got staal and a pick for johnsson.

- Tumbleweed

Leafs already traded Kapanen, if they make this trade the cap hit would even out.

3.2 + 3.5 - 6 = 0.7. Exactly enough to re-sign Spezza. It’s gonna happen. Maybe.

Trump washed his hands of leading his nation through covid, left it to the states, and then went around trashing and shaming those governors and states who took the pandemic seriously.

He played politics with people's lives. He's a pathetic little piece of poop.

Question for the Dubas fans: apart from being a great PR guy, what has Dubas shown to be considered a good NHL GM so far?
In addition to not liking the choice for him as GM for one of hockey's most important franchises due to his lack of experience and proven track record, so far I don't see any signs of him being really good at any specific points..
Overpaying on contracts (kerfoot, johnsson come to mind) bad negotiation skills/tactics in general (timing on Marner, Matthews and Nylander deals) and lack of proper player evaluation (Sparks vs McBackup; Ceci; load of UFA signings) - I really don't see there is anything big to praise him on???

Cliffy was done in 2011 after Sheldon Brookbank turned him into mush...
- dozerD10

So done that he put up career highs in points in 2019, and the Kings got a quality trade return for him as a rental.

BTW, how's Ondrej Kase doing after Kurtis MacDermid welcomed him to the NHL?

Dubas is super woke though.

Between him and MLSE new hire Teri Dennis-Davies, Dumba to the Leafs E5000.

That wasn’t even this year. The Isles were saved by the stoppage, and Lou won the award because the Isles surprised in the playoffs... even though it’s a regular season award...

Your hate for the Liberals defies logic. The number of deaths or the number of cases is a reasonable measurement of effectiveness. By that standard Canada has done a much more effective job relative to the US. Hard to defend the indefensible.

Nobody cares about the award. They are a top4 team in NHL this year, after having lost their franchise C just 2 seasons ago.
Lou's done a wonderful job with that team.

The Islanders had only 1 less point with 2 games in hand on the Leafs when the season stopped. A lot of people probably expected them to be a lottery team and yet they weren't. Lou deserves credit but most of that credit is hiring Trotz.

But it's still more than Dubas did with hiring Keefe who missed the playoffs.
