Horsehit. The most rudimentary testing and contact tracing system is better than none. And don't pretend to know enough to reject a plan you have never heard about. I'm not sure why I'm surprised but your arrogance is astounding - Canada Cup
You obviously don't understand how the track and trace system would need to work in order for this to have any significant impact.
Any country with more than a few cases per 100k inhabitants that is now betting on track and trace as a main measure of their covid strategy is fooling their inhabitants.

Every politician in the world - maybe with the exception of a few in East Asian countries (who had had the previous experience with SARS) failed to recognize that this epidemic would have such an impact.
WHO failed to recognize this until mid / late Feb (don"t have the specific dates in mind, but I don't think I'm that far off).

Trump was told by Xi and talked privately about how serious it was in early February. Whether he knew the specifics or not, he was told that it was the biggest national security threat he would face.
He knew. He could have done something. He refused and more people died than needed to die. There's no other way to spin it.

Fine. Let's not compare and just put it this way.
The United States is the richest country in the world. Trump knew in January how bad this virus was. He deliberately downplayed it for personal political and refused to take the most basic steps to protect the lives of his citizens. He could have mobilized the resources of the country to fight the virus. He could have told people it was serious. He refused to do so.
No comparison necessary because no other country in the world would behave that way. And don't China me because there's no comparison. - Canada Cup
everybody was downplaying it. the u.s. political system is a mess. you can't trust government to take care of people. politics and money get in the way of that.

The first covid death reported outside of Asia wasn't confirmed until 15th of Feb - and that was in France.
United States has 35 reported cases by Feb 21st.
Go back and revise the timelines and WHO position, China reported cases and all other events in Feb - no politician outside of Asia had access to information that would make them think about current scenario, let alone taking strong preventive measures at the time.
(35 reported cases in the whole of US - and the country could realistically be put on a 3 week lockdown, is that what you are suggesting??)

Was it you who said he was actually the underrated Beatle?
Here, I owe you one. Gram Parsons singing a big sappy favourite of mine, The Streets of Baltimore with Emmy Lou Harris. I got to see her in a for real honky tonk in Virginia when I was living in D.C.
Only learned today that James Burton and the Elvis band play on this album which is one of my favourites.

Oh yes there is. Not that I agree with it. The playbook is simple:
1. Disregard facts
2. Deny
3. Blame the 'other side' of the thing you are guilty of.
4. Spread conspiracy theories

I don't like Trump myself, but the TDS sufferers are working overtime to try and rewrite history. Trump was the first to take it seriously by shutting flights down and absolutely got crucified by the media, Democrats, the TDS crowd, and even some Republicans for doing it. Biden was saying he should not have done that and only came around to saying Trump was right at the end of March, begining of April.

Bob Woodward taped Trump in early February that the virus was airborne. He was saying privately it was 5 times more dangerous than the flu. He knew in mid March it was dangerous for young people. This is all on tape.
And yet he publicly downplayed it and refused to take steps to deal with it
One of many UFA's the Leafs can't afford to resign due to their horrible cap situation. I guess that Dubas will be dumpster diving to round out his bottom 6 and pathetically bad defense.
