I don’t think the song I put a song up for you in response to George Harrison loaded. It was Gram Parsons singing Streets of Baltimore singing with Emmy Lou Harris. I saw her at a real live Virginia honky tonk when I was living in DC. I only learned today that James Burton and the Elvis band played on this album (one of my favourites).
This is such a great, sad song.

Gram Parsons was a talented guy, mysterious death, just shy of being in the 27 club. He and Keith Richards hung out together in the early 70's doing lots of heroin. I really like the Flying Burrito Bros and the Byrds. Jagger and Richards gave the song Wild Horses to Parsons and he recorded it with the Flying Burrito Bros a year before the Stones released it. Sad story for sure.

SJW Dubas will totally try to acquire Dumba but he'd get royally ripped off if it's for Nylander. - JohnFergusonJr
SJW Dubas would much rather acquire Subban but will settle with Dumba or Simmonds to fulfill his diversity quota.

The bullpen has been very good, but Fisher needs to be sent packing. As surprising as the Jays have been, plenty of questionable moves by the manager. I saw that hire as the cheapest avaiable rather than the best available candidate.

And yet you’re ok with your President actively lying about the danger simply to aid his own election prospects. You’re ok that he puts people directly in danger because it serves his purposes. And he continues to lie about it to this day.
The stupid (frank) was so keen to impress Woodward he just couldn’t stop talking. It’s so easy to see how any dictator with a t.v. can wrap the bundle of neuroses around his finger. “Yes, you Excellency. My heart trembles at the thought of the time we spent together.” How (frank)ing embarrassing. - Canada Cup
I do my own research and come up with my own thoughts. I am skeptical of politicians. They all have biases that are not in my best interest.
The covid plan morphed from flatten the curve/don't overwhelm hospitals to stamp the virus out. For a virus that was supposed to have a 1-5% death rate.
The implied cdc death rate estimate is 0.26%; where the highest risk induviduals can be easily be identified.
The majority of news is a complete waste of time. The majority of politicians are full of poop.
People need to think for themselves more and rely on the government less.

You make some reasonable points about the honesty and integrity of politicians and news agencies. When an estimate is made, it is just that, it is not facts. This is a new virus and there are a couple of very disturbing things about the virus that are evident - and not easily disputed. First it is very contagious, I've heard anywhere from 10 to 20% more contagious than the common flu. We don't know long term effects on people that have had it. Heart and Lung damage primarily. I worry for my 16 year old son going to school. He may get corona, might even be a mild case with few symtoms. What if it damages his lungs or heart permanently not only reducing his lifespan but reducing the quality of his life. If that is even a possibility is it not worth taking every precaution to prevent it? |

I haven't seen factual evidence of a high risk of long-term effects. Seems more like fear mongering at this point. There's prossibly been +70m cases in the u.s. this isn't a virus with limited numbers anymore.
There is value in protecting yourself from the unknown. But at some point, you need to live your life and not have some future event that may or may not happen ruin what you are doing now. |

My gf has had ongoing, (frank)ed up symptoms for months since recovering from Covid. It is not just a respiratory virus and its long term effects are not understood. People that take a new virus lightly need to think about being on a revolving door with specialists for months trying to explain fatigue, sudden rapid heart rate, chest pain, drilling headaches and eye pain. This thing isn't necessarily over in two weeks if you survive. It's no joke. People who are cavalier about it are fools. |

You’re right to question and research and come to your own conclusions and make your own decisions accordingly. It’s great that you have the education to know how to do that and the financial means to operate somewhat independently.
But were you able to ignore the FAA’s assessment of the safety of the Boeing Max jet? Can you independently test food safety?
How would react if the brakes on your car failed, killing your family and you learned that someone in authority knew it, could have and should have told you but simply chose not for their own personal gain?
This isn’t about the capacity to think. This is about deliberately withholding information that could save lives. JFJ doesn’t surprise me and I understand that you have some political reservations but I don’t see how this can sit right with you. |

I understand living your life, taking extra precautions will be the new norm for some time IMO. Fear mongering is a strong term, and with 200,000 US deaths in one wave lasting 7 months hard to dispute the damage. Therepeutics are the key to a safer way to get on with our lives, a vaccine will take some time. Bill Gates has made a serious investment to advance therepeutics for Covid and it makes sense.
How could you possibly have seen factual evidence about long term risks? The virus has been known for less than a year. |

Wow that sucks, one of my colleagues had the virus. When we last spoke he mentioned significant issues with concentration and focus. He's been clear for over 3 months and still has these issues.

Just so you know Tumbleweed is a Trump lover, a creationist, a gun nut, and when he mentions BLM Protestors he puts the word criminals in brackets afterwards. He made a home in Tanners thread with other like-minded idiots. |
