Great trade for 1 year. Allows cozens to develop, keeps all our prospects. Has been a cup winner and should bring a winning attitude here

I like the trade for you guys. Have heard that Staal was completely blind sided and not happy but at 35 I get that.

Staal has a 10 team only trade list. Sabres are not on it.
Interesting. Maybe a multi-trade move to get a bigger piece

Great trade for the Sabres, addresses a need and didn't have to give up any future assets.

I also like this trade. Staal still has some hockey left in him, and playing behind Eichel could allow him some more favorable matchups.

So, where will Cozens play next year?

Not sure, didn't see much of Cozens but sounds like he's ready to make the team. I assume the Sabres make him the 3rd line centre or top 6 winger for the first bit to see how he does. A Sabres team with a solid 2nd line behind Eichel could do very well next year.

I see Staal's career with Buffalo going somewhat like Vontae Davis' with the Bills

Mojo is a great puck posession player. 200' game and good for 0.5ppg every year. That being said, Staal is rock solid and strength down the middle is far more important. Good trade for Buffalo. There are very few C UFA options this off-season
