As far as flyers and staal. I think we have a d man we are trying to move. Don’t think Minnie was interested in d as they have one they are trying to trade. Don’t have much else to offer in the salary range they were looking at. Cap problems and all.

Guerin said he needed to move players because it’s the same ol same ol. Probably the right approach in minnys case But the return makes no sense. Get picks or young guy with upside and take a chance. Johansson at more $ and winger if you want production was just bad. That’s what staying mediocre looks like. Kinda like trading picks for poopty bruan who’s washed up.

Bengals +6 easy lock of the night tonight. That might be lock of the week right there. Bet the mortgage people. Mayfield blows
2-2-1 so far this week and this an easy move above .500 give me right there

I know it's tough to plan around the uncertainty of Patrick playing next season. I think we have enough young guys ready to take the next step that I don't like the idea of going after a veteran like Staal for 3C. We can always bring back a guy like Thompson too if we don't trust the kids enough

Is Brandon Dubinsky done? He has one more year at 5.8. Jackets seem to be a team needing scoring. Could you move someone like JVR to Columbus for say Dubinsky and Josh Anderson, who had a down season but I like his game and what he can bring.

Just asking as i am not sure what Dubinksy has left, can he be a 3rd line center if needed for just a year if Patrick isn't healthy? He played under AV.

Just looking for thoughts. Or if it doesn't make any sense just let me know.

Columbus has even less cap space than we do. Not sure I can see them taking on more salary regardless of their needs.

Why would Columbus want to take on JVr's contract? It's silly season.

Anyone watching the US open and Justin Thomas asked the official for a ruling and the guy didn’t give him a straight answer? Why could the guy not determine if that would improve his lie ?

What did you like about his take? He gave zero insight to the game, his insight was mayfield blows.

Here’s a quote from 8/20/20
Blue Jackets' Brandon Dubinsky: Unlikely to play again
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
When asked about Dubinsky on Friday, general manager Jarmo Kekalainen admitted that the 34-year-old pivot's wrist injury will likely keep him from playing professional hockey again, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Because Minnesota took on Johannson so I thought Columbus would do it as a nice favor.

I was just looking at teams that might need a scorer and feel they could get that fromJVR possibly.

if they move JVR i just don't want another long term deal or older player coming back long term. I could deal with an older player for a year if he can fill a possibly 3rd line role either at center if needed or wing.

Can you trade a player for another players rights? Like Florida could lose Hoffman and Dadnov. Can Flyers trade JVR for the rights to Mike Hoffman? Say Hoffman wants to check out FA then you moved the cap hit and took nothing back? Or is that one of those circumventing the cap deals? I really don't know so asking

Everyone knows why the Flyers might want to do something along those lines but you still haven't answered why Columbus would? Why don't you want to keep JVR?

Honestly, I don't know if I want to keep him. Just from my perspective it kind of looks like he is not a favorite of AV. They need to shed money due to the cap uncertainty moving forward and I just don't think he really fits here. I don't think he really fits in that 3rd line role, yes I know you need depth. Maybe Patrick is back then he could because he'll have someone to get him the puck.

I don't know. I feel like out of the forwards, Voracek and JVR would be my choices of salaries to move. Plus I don't think any have protections.

I don't know.

There is a simple test. Reverse the trade and ask yourself if you make that deal for your team.

He gave his pick. Nothing more than that. Hope he gives one every day, dont see why anyone would have an issue with him doing it.
