By the way, I was thinking of doing a little Philly foodie post, stemming from the time we were chatting about best cheesesteaks before game 2 against the Habs.

The idea is - name your favorite hidden/secret places/dishes to eat in Philly that are affordable (average menu prices/dishes named must be less than $20 tops). Must be in Philly proper, not burbs or joisey.

Hidden/secret means that it can't be something like John's Roast Pork or DeNics. Known to all Philly people even though it might qualify as a hidden gem for out-of-towners.

Affordable: as above.

Some time in the next couple of weeks. Any interest, or you guys gonna get on my case for hijacking thread? I could wait till after SCF....

Disagree. Don't think he would have been a regular NHL player at all. Had a nice short spurt then not much imo.

He had the nice spurt -- really all season, because he was playing well for the Phantoms and then played well for the Flyers -- before suffering a concussion. He was afraid to report it, since he'd just become a regular NHL starter and didn't want anything to jeopardize it. It got to the point, though, where there was no hiding the symptoms anymore. He sat out and felt better but the post-concussion symptoms still hadn't fully subsided when he came back in the 2012 playoffs, and got concussed again.

Unfortunately, he was never again able to shake the issues. Played only 17 games the next year but got concussed again. Missed about a calendar year. Played 7 games in 2013-14, and had another concussion with bad after-effects. Realized his career was over at age 25, and retired.

To Marc-Andre's immense credit, he never gave in to feeling sorry for himself. Focused on his health, and relied on his religious faith and inner strength to stay postive-minded. Found ways to stay in the game through coaching and scouting of young players. Got himself a college education as well.

Last I talked to him, and it's been several years at this point but he's now Rouyn-Noranda's assistant GM and head scout, he was feeling fine physically (the post-concussion issue flare-ups were basically gone) and really enjoying life. I'm very happy for him. Good guy and a success story.

Def unfortunate for the kid. Glad no post playing issues.

Why the delay on a Patrick contract do you think Bill? Should be rather easy no?
Does he have an agent or does his family represent him?

I’m really curious what the return for Ghost would be. On one hand we know the struggles. On the other, who else is shopping a pretty young puck moving d man?
- hereticpride

It is as much they he doesn't fit with the current group. When Myers, Sanheim and Provy are seasoned vets Ghost might fit. I actually think Ghost might play well with Nisk, find Someone who can play with Provy
