Offer sheet Armageddon! RFA wars! The Flyers have a no BS attitude! The Leafs aren't screwing around! Young David Poile is running around the Spectrum in 1966! Malkin wants to be the Man!

I was under the impression that Demko was the BIG DOMINO. Now it sounds like a musical chairs of offer sheets. This is insane stuff.

By the way, the compensation for Pulock versus Barzal may not be that different. Pulock is probably going to use Brodin's deal as a comparable, and then move up from there. So let's say $6.5M x 7 years. Well, that's going to cost 2 firsts, 1 second, and 1 third. What about Barzal? Maybe he wants to go 5-6 years like Marner and Matthews did. For fun let's say $9M x 6 years. Guess what Ek...exact same compensation as Pulock. So not sure where you have this clever idea that someone can swoop in and sign Pulock without giving up much. I see lots of people on radio and media not quite understanding the CBA on this...

As much as I Love Pullock, 2 1st a 2nd and a 3rd, I would let him go. There will be a hit. Bring back Andy Greene for a year, rotate him and Dobson. Use those picks and cap savings to trade for a top 6 player.

What about Phil Myers? Flyers tight to the cap and may not be able to match a long term big money deal

Once the Flyers trade JVR + Gostisbehere for Johnny Gaudreau, that gives them an extra $4.75M of cap space. Calgary is exploring this, but busy making offers for Hall and Markstrom too. E4 x 3.

Someone is going to offer sheet Dylan Stome? Ek hasn't watched much Hawk hockey the past season.

If it's an offer that would compensate with a draft pick I think the Hawks will gladly take the pick and let Strome walk.

What the hell, the Flyers should throw in some cash and maybe even a mid round pick in a JVR/Ghost for Gaudreau deal.

The rapid emergence of Dach into a 2C role makes Strome and his 12 goals totally expendable. Next season they run Toews and Dach as 1-2. Strome would be an expensive and ineffective 3C. They would gladly take a pick and fill that role with a different player. Seems obvious to me...

With a flat cap there will be more emphasis on building through the draft now more than ever. There are no quick fixes available now because many teams are at or near the cap and some teams are talking of a self imposed cap well under the 81.5 the league max. Very few teams are going to throw out offer sheets then have to surrender a pile of picks for it.

Ek knows this. That's why he suggested a clever GM doesn't focus on Barzal, but instead Pulock. Like, maybe Pulock would sign for like $4M x 5 years and it will only cost a 2nd round pick. That would be so smart. Poor Islanders.

Bruins with $15 mil cap space and 2 RFA’s are in a cap crunching. Makes sense.
