When Guentzel was on the PP without Hornqvist in front, they scored 4.69 goals per 60.

When Hornqvist was on the PP, they scored twice as often at 9.33 goals per 60.

Guentzel is a wonderful player, but he's not a net front guy. (Did real well replacing Crosby for a stretch.) The goal should not be to cut our PP production in half.

Jankowski had a terrible year in 2020, but he's an excellent PKer and can score 15 goals in the right environment.

The Pens need a proven 3C or 3rd line LW. This guy barely held down the 4th line LW spot on your team. I can appreciate he might need the right environment, but Pens need proven at the moment, especially if they're giving up Pettersson.

I'm not gonna judge him on that play in round performance. His stats before that weren't so hot anyways, however hahah

Relative to how the team performs when you are off the ice. It can be a flawed stat if you’re a depth player on a stacked team. But generally if it’s bad it means your team is better off without you playing.

All I know is I get strong JJ vibes. Go look at JJs 2013-16 stuff on the warrior chart from domenic galaminis tableau.

Funny, because he hated Chris Tanev for not having a pulse offensively, and he has openly criticized Horn's contract due to age, deployment and durability, but here comes Matheson with some speed, offensive ability, but has a long contract and *some* of his stats aren't flattering

I think he has more strengths than JJ and potential to turn it around with the Pens, but I say that with very cautious optimism. Regardless it is a bad move. The contract is atrocious and likely means we move a better more capable dman out.

I said this earlier; he's the JJ of the rumor world. He's so absurdly bad at this job. I can't count the misinformation he's spread over the years about rumors.

Theres some kind of thing where teams can only have so many insured contracts. Thats was the hangup with Nathan Horton and why the Blue Jackets sent him to Toronto and the Leafs basically paid out that contract on LTIR

I hope the Pens keep Kovy on their radar. After all this shakes out they are going to need the most bang for their buck on the 3rd line. Kovy($1M)-McCann-Spend the rest here
