I’d be much more interested in Ehlers than Laine
- Barnaby36

I'd like Ehlers too, but because he is under contract long term, the Jets are going to want as much for him as Laine. I also don't think he has the same upside as Laine, nor does he fit the need quite the same for the Pens.

Anyways, I don't see the Pens going after Kovy or Ryan if Ruth says they are going younger. I think he really is gonna give Poulin a real chance, since he did say it haha

I could see him grabbing one of them, though likely not Kovy unfortunately as he passed on him last the last 2 years at a $1m or whatever salary. Unlikely he goes to him at this point.

JR said he is going to wait out the first few days of FA. Id be good with giving Ryan a shot on a 1 year deal.

I don't really see us being active in FA unless it's for AHL players. Unless JJ or someone is moved.

For once I just want us to go into free agency and pick up some value contracts. Look at what Shattenkirk, Perry, Nishkushkin, Sekera, Brassard, Ennis, Del Zotto went for. Every year some valuable players go on one year cheap prove it deals. Pens seem to overpay ever signing, every trade.

Besides maybe a cheap RHD option or maybe a RW (which I could see him getting either through a Murray trade) think JR rolls the dice with what we have. Idk if he over pays on every trade. I think he does pay a little bit more for some of our free agents, but I am unsure what other teams are offering them. So I couldn't really say with confidence that he over pays for anything. He definitely gives longer than average contracts though. Which I do feel confident about instead of the 1-2 year prove it deals

I do agree though. It would be nice to get a one year provide it player who helps add some scoring to our depth.

I want to see how Poulin looks in camp first, but yeah, that's not the worst idea, but I'm sure some will argue playing him on the 4th line is a waste.

It will be hard for Poulin and Légaré at first sight: Lafferty, Angello, Miletic, Di Pauli, O'Conner, Bellerive, A.Johnson.. so many guys with AHL experience fighting for spots.
Anyone believe Aberg will be in camp as well?

Can't wait to see if we'll bring anyone else new to the roster. Can't wait to unload Murray and Jacko. DeSmith will be just fine as a backup to Jarry.
I'm afraid we could deal Jarry instead of Murray.......anyone think it's a coin toss between Murray and Jarry in terms of talent? I don't lol

It’s sad that so many people are going to die in Tampa because they were celebrating and not wearing masks.

Tampa will be an interesting team to watch. They have some cap shuffling to do.
