I want absolutely no part of him

well hockey wise there is no reason for the Rangers to trade for a RHD

I don’t believe Eichel is realistic, but what about a trade to help Eichel up there in BUF. ADA and Kakko for Dahlin

I think biggest reason that Eichel gets talked about to Rangers is that Quinn was his college coach and the Rangers need for a center

I know I’ve said it 100 times but for the cost and our needs, I still can’t find a better fit than Domi. MTL needs wingers, we need a center. Maybe Buch and 22?

Why would Buffalo do that?
Yes, Kakko would help him up front (potentially), but they would be right back to having nothing on the back end. That is not how you improve your team. ADA is not one to build your D around, he is a finishing piece.

I don't see Max Domi being worth a first round pick at all. Perhaps it's just the Domi last name, but he's had what, one good season? That's not worth a first rounder; especially since he's fallen off the ladder in MTL.

Yea I agree, I wouldn't give up a first round pick for him. Is he any better than Strome? I don't think so. We know Strome has had a great year playing with Panarin and Domi probably the same but not worth a first rounder for something that's already on the team.

Of course everyone and their mother are calling about Eichel. Why wouldn't they? It's just like Gorton receiving calls from everyone and their fathers about the first overall pick. No sh!t is going to hit the fan here.

No way I would want to pay the price for Eichel. This isn't a MSL deal where Eichel has publicly asked for a trade to NY and holds the cards.

Even if Eichel could be had for free his contract would almost guarantee Zib being gone when his deal is up. No way Zib looks around the room at Panarin, Eichel, Trouba, and whatever Shesty gets and thinks "yeah I'm not worth at least $10M." No way NY can pay $40M for 5 players especially with the flat cap

yeah it's pretty crazy

the Rangers technically could include Trouba in the deal though, his NMC kicks in in like 2 weeks

1. I believe this was covered at least once in a mailbag, but the only way Rangers could add Eichel's $ without strangling on cap is by sending Trouba the other way as part of package. Why would Buffalo want to do that? Trouba no-trade clause kicks in 10/9, by the way.

2. I think that adding Eichel would lead to Zibanejad's departure as UFA in '22, if not sooner.

3. And if somehow the Rangers were to re-up Zibanejad for around $10M (if there are still such things as $10M free agents in two years, who knows?), they would then have approximately $38M of cap tied up in four forwards (Panarin, Eichel, Zibanejad, Kreider).

Or Zibby is the major piece going back for Eichel.
I wouldn't do it personally ( after much thought ) but it would be tempting...

I would probably do it..

I love Zib and what he has done here but do we think a 7x$10mil contract is going to turn out well for Zib?

I really like Trouba and I only think he'll get better and I don't really advocate trading him at all

but, if the team did trade him before Oct 9th, considering the new world we live in with an uncertain cap and the Rangers depth on RHD, I would understand it

Trouba probably gonna be sweating until Oct 9th

This is truly a sad day! Marc has been an icon for the NYR! Unfortunately those who demanded he be traded don't understand hockey very well. Even though Marc played hurt and had 3 serious injuries he fought through it! Marc used to key on the best offensive player Alex Ovechkin and did a better job against him than anyone else did.... The amount of disrespect given to Marc was 100% uncalled for!!! Same goes for Dan Girardi two players I will miss very much.
