Two year deal for Hagg at 1.6 million per year. Can't wait for Nate Thompson to sign.

Fletcher's plan better not be to bring back the same team, that poop ain't gonna fly.

Just not a Hagg fan at all. Money is better spent elsewhere. That being said expected him to get at least 2 per.

1.6 AAV for a 6th/7th dman? You can find a warm body for cheaper than that.

I do think that 1.6 is reasonable based upon his body of work and age. The contract is tradable.

Correct, a vet for 1 million is 600k in cap savings.

No complaints with this deal. Hagg improved his play under AV this year IMO. Congrats to Hagg

There is no reason to complain about this deal. Good value for what he brings, moveable contract if necessary, good signing.

No. This is what I expected. Need to give him credit for what he does do.

And for all that say a vet. Who?

Yes but you thought it was going to be 2 or more. He may be gone to Seattle. Very good chance.

So unless Van Riemsdyk, or Gostisbehere's contracts are moved, what changes do you see to the roster?

Myers next. 3 years. At 3.25-3.33

Or two at 3.

I think you’re gonna be disappointed if you expect any type of big changes. Flyers need more speed, how they achieve that I’m not sure, but it’s sorely needed.

So bring back the same team that we know isn't good enough to compete for a Cup? That's the plan?

interested in what happens with him. I hope it's for more than 2-3 years. I don't know that he should get the same amount as Sanheim though.

Three step plan to success:

1.Trade our expensive bad players for other teams cheap good players.
2.
3.Profit!

I’m not saying that’d be my plan, I’m saying I don’t see Fletcher shaking things to the point you’re gonna see big changes. Plus, a flat cap makes dealing bigger contracts very difficult.

Well I think the latter may be gone. Depends on if they take a player back or a pick. Don’t think it’ll go Marc staal but who knows at this point.

Pretty much. That's the problem with spending to the cap before a team is legit ready to compete for a cup.

The hope is the young players take another step forward and the veteran core can still contribute at a good clip. Add a bottom six forward and defensive depth on bargain contracts and hope for the best.

Well if Seattle is run but competent people I dont think they want Hagg. Not sure why you say a very good chance. There will be many 6/7 caliber dman available.

Only other way before letting someone go. Maybe 5 years at 4 mil. But that’s cutting it close. If he does something similar to Travis, prove it deal then he could get a bigger payday. Now. If ghost is gone for a cheaper player or nothing you could maybe go more in showing faith. But would only go 7 years 5 mil. Just think it’s good for both to do shorter. Cap and cap. If the cap opens in a few years he could be eyeing that.
