You think? The PK trade kind of came out of nowhere... everyone is expecting one of the 2 to go

No it didn’t there was a lot of chatter for weeks...the draft came and went and then bang! There was also the famous declaration: I’m not shopping PK Subban. And a couple of days later (4 to be exact) gone he was.

I do remember Bergy saying that for sure.... and maybe I don't remember the chatter because I didn't actually believe it was gonna get done... I'm pretty sure one of Domi/Danault wont be a Hab next season

his no trade clause was gonna kick in so that’s what made the chatter start as well. As for Domi and Danault, the only way both are still there is if Domi commits to playing wing...otherwise, something will have to give

I recall the NTC issue as well...

And did Domi actually say he wouldn't play the W? I don't think he did... one thing that is pretty obvious, he's a much better C than he is a W.... why ask a player to play somewhere he's less effective?

And it was to chill out the masses... Danault did the complete opposite, he threw fuel on the fire for his own personal gains

I think that's mostly it.

I'm not buying the "Domi is pouting or doesn't want to play wing" narrative.

He's just better at centre. If there's no spot for him there with the Habs, he'd be better off elsewhere.

People do forget the guy posted 72 points 2 years ago and we're ready to give up on him before seeing if KK comes out strong next season. Keeping him around on a bridge deal isn't a terrible idea.

it was more elaborate, for sure.

i had trouble watching either of them speak because apparently a major side effect of steroids is spitting all over the place when you talk.

If we choose to I suppose... why else did Danault say what he did? Theres only 2 logical reasons, no? Icetime or money? Either way, for his own personal gains, what he said didn't need to be said, especially at the time he said it! And it's even funnier that people are sh!tting on Domi for "pouting" over something he never actually said or implied

Agreed... about everything!

But what about Belzile? Where is he gonna play?

Danault wants to keep being an important part of this team, that's what I personally read into it. of course he needs to consider his negotiations and individual aspirations, as any player should, but I didn't interpret it necessarily as a selfish statement...

I like Belzile. He's an effective 4th liner in my book.

But we have better options than him in our bottom 6.... TO LAVAL !

NEXT!

Highly possible.

Better him than a Poehling not playing.
