Real debate time:

Better Captain?

Lecavalier or Stamkos

- tiamatzer0

Neither seem to be really great captains. Hedman, Point, and Vasilevskiy were the main contributors for TB this year. In 2004, I'd say Brad Richards and Martin St. Louis were more important than Lecavalier.

That's why it's worded the way it is.
I would say both of them have one stand-out moment in their respective Cup wins.
Stamkos had the emotional support goal and Lecavalier had the fight against Iginla. Meanwhile, the real offensive forces on both teams did their thing

But Vinnie wasn't the captain when they won..he was captian for like a handful of games and then was relinquished until well after they won the cup. Wasnt it like 2008 when he was handed the captaincy full time?

Leafs, obviously.

I think Boston could use a Maroon type player...from what I saw Bruins are not as tough around net last 2 years

The Bolts got it done. Hell yeah, this team was determined. I am glad I was able to watch the final two games after my trip. Michael glad you came back to blog for the Bolts. This place was dead while you were gone. Look forward to coming on here more often to talk Bolts and hockey.

Wow, they actually (frank)ing did it. I'm still in shock. Even though the Lightning have looked a step ahead of every team they've played these playoffs, I still had some doubts based on the disappointing losses we've had these past few years. I started watching hockey and following the Lightning a decade ago, and couldn't be more proud to be a fan of the team over that time.

The 2011 playoff run got me hooked, and it's been a blast to see Yzerman transform the Lightning since then. Huge props to him and his masterful job building the supporting foundation to Stamkos and Hedman, along with JBB this year who made some deadline deals that looked like overpayments at the time, but ended up being huge acquisitions. To go out like we did last postseason and turn it around with such a dominant run this year, without Stamkos and after the pause due to Covid … it’s just incredible. Excited to see what JBB does in the offseason, and here’s hoping for a repeat next season

He could have paid double and it would feel okay at this point.

Mike, have enjoyed you back blogging for the Lightning, hope you can pull off doing Edmonton and us, or just the lightning. Game 6 was awesome to bad effing nbcsports cut off the cup celebration 1/2 way through. If I wasn’t so cheap to pay for cable I would never watch nbcsports. Bolts!!!!!

He'll get his name on the Cup sure, but I doubt he feels like he earned it. Even in the postgame interview, he said that he was so happy for his teammates, and that he was really excited "watching them win." He has played 2 minutes of hockey since February.
