I would have been pissed if some lottery team had won, but Tampa deserved it. Congrats! |

Even if COVID never happened, I'm sure the outcome would have still been the same.
Tampa was embarrassed last year and they wanted to make sure that it did not happen again. |

I guess the prediction of Dallas winning the Cup due to their superior counter attack didn't come true. Also, has anyone called this the "Summer of Stanley"? Literally haven't heard anyone refer to it as that. Any offer sheets yet? |

It’s well deserved. They’re loaded with depth; superstars, role players, defense, and goaltending are all present.
Congrats to the Lightning. No asterisk. It was hard earned. |

Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the NHL Teams for putting on a great PO under less than ideal circumstances. |

I thoroughly enjoyed it even though my guys were bounced. Glad they pulled it off, and it seemed like a pretty big success. |

Goodrow, Coleman, and Maroon changed that team into a grttier winner. Reminded me of when NYR traded Amonte and Gartner for Noonan, Anderrson, and Matteu! Every team needs that tough two way line to win the cup! |

Amazing that NHL pulled it off. No positive Covid results by anyone in bubbles good on them for abiding by the rules |

The Spanish Flu Pandemic struck the Montreal Canadiens during the 1919 cup finals after several games had been played. Unable to field a team they offered to forfeit the Stanley Cup to the Seattle Metropolitans. The Metropolitans declined believing the cup should only be earned on the ice. That was a great display of sportsmanship but it makes me appreciate that the NHL was able to pull this off. Sure it wasn't normal but it was great hockey by two outstanding teams. Frankly I don't particularly like either of them but that was really enjoyable.
Gary Bettman deserves credit for pulling this off and obviously the players really stepped up too. |

Feel sorry for the Tampa fans who weren't (understandably) able to watch any of their team's games in person. A bitter sweet victory. |

Yep. Good on them.
The NHL had some difficult decisions to make about the format in the beginning, knowing that no solution was going to please everyone. But, they should be commended. To pull off an event of this magnitude without a single positive diagnosis is rather remarkable!!
And tons of really good hockey! |

Now we have the draft to look forward to (I'm sure you are excited for that). After that the NHL is right back at it trying to figure navigate their way into the next regular season. Obviously a very challenging situation but the playoff success makes me optimistic we will have hockey in some format.
....trying hard not to remember that measles outbreak that ran thru the league a few years back. |
